4 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Fairly easy to set up. Had it up and running with my existing cams in a few minutes. Running almost a year now.

Cons: User manual obviously transferred from some other language, and very poorly at that. Nowhere does it tell you NOT TO attempt to log into cameras from any other browser than Internet Explorer. Took a couple of days of crashing and a phone call to tech support to find that out. Since then, only crashes when I accidently attempt to connect with Firefox. Had to replace the fan inside after about a month, it was making a horrible noise. Very cheap throw away fan. I put a little larger fan in, had to wiggle it down to get it in, but, it's tight, and no screws needed!!

Other Thoughts: I'm sure there are better units out there. I got mine for under $100 with free shipping. Not sure if I would have paid $149 (at THAT time) for it though.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Running for a few hours now, seems to work great. This is replacing a zmodo that failed 1 year and 23 days, easy to setup Better picture quality than 4ch zmodo using same cameras as my old system. Installed 1TB HD

Cons: Had to setup to manually record the first time...rebooted once and didnt come up until I power cycled it...but so far so good

1 out of 5 eggsVVR1016 very cheap quality

Pros: Low price.

Cons: Cheap quality.
Reboots every other time while accessing via web browser.
Slowest reboot time I have seen.
ActiveX only. (no other browser but IE)
No D1 recording

Other Thoughts: Returned this before ever attempting to install a hard drive.
I have had the opportunity to check out various brands of H.264 DVRs and the VVR1016 is the worst of the lot.

I would stay away from this one.
$14.85 out of pocket to return ship.
