4 out of 5 eggsGreat inexpensive system

Pros: Fairly easy to setup, good solid features and configuration options on the DVR (way more than I expected), great system for the money when on sale. Nice long cables for the cameras. Remote monitoring on a cell phone works great!

Cons: Camera quality is average (wasn't really expecting much more though). Took me a while to get the cell phone monitoring working -- most surveillance apps I tried did not work. Finally got it working perfectly with vmEye. Pretty thick 'engrish' instructions were a bit hard to follow.

Other Thoughts: You do not need a separate router/switch. I simply plugged into my wireless router and configured port forwarding on the mobile port and it worked fine. Also, the LEDs glow slightly red at night because they are providing IR illumination -- I don't find this to be an issue.

Pros: Does The Job

Cons: Only allows certain pop3 email accounts to work you can't use your own....
ftp don't work at all

Manufacturer Response:

This customer has contacted with us (Vonnic Customer Service/ Technical Support Department) and we have already received a notice that indicates this customer figured out to get the FTP to be functioning.
Regarding to the email alert feature via POP3 does not work with his own, customer may need to contact his own email service provider to verify the POP port, TLS, and SSL requirements.
This DVR system does support majority email service providers’ POP system/server.

5 out of 5 eggsI'm happy with it

Pros: I got a great price on this system. It does what it is supposed to do.

Cons: It's not free and I had to buy a hard drive for it.

Other Thoughts: This was my first installation of a video surveillance system. Setting the recorder was easy and everything has worked fine so far. I have noticed that the LEDs for some of the cameraa are glowing red but so far they are still working.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Service

Pros: Had my Vonnic security system go out after a storm, must of been a power surge. Anyway called Vonnic and a actual person answered on the second ring. Told me to send it in and it would be repaired or replaced. Three days later got a brand new later model replacement at my door. I am impressed! They answer the phone, they stand behind their products, are prompt and treat customers great. My hat off to the folks at VONNIC!

Cons: none
