1 out of 5 eggsUnsupported

Pros: Great features (although would have liked Pandora too).
Reasonably quick start-up times (at the time).

Cons: Not updated in over a year. Won't play certain Blu-ray discs: "Kick A**" [really?!?!? I can't use the actual title of a real movie???], "Invite Me In".

Other Thoughts: What I originally considered a great player for a reasonable price, not has me regretting the purchase. It can't play certain discs (see above), and there are no firmware updates in sight (and haven't been for maybe over a year). I have gotten to the point where I am disappointed in every LG product I own: refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and now BD player.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works!

Pros: It works. Setup was insanely easy for me. I installed it, connected it to my router, turned it on and it was a go. Netflix playback works awesome for me, but I do not have a 1080 capable TV.

Cons: The only con is the USB port under the drive bay cover on the front. Since I rarely use BrL, it isnt a huge deal for me. Not being able to play network-shared video/music was a big con for me, but with just about any hardware, always a tradeoff (price in this case).

Other Thoughts: I will come back and change this review to 5 stars if LG adds Hulu to this player. (Hint Hint)

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent network Blu-ray player

Pros: quick starting, excellent picture quality. I use it to stream netflix, youtube movies - hassle free.

Cons: not much that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: my previous DVD player - can 'remember' 10 different DVDs where it was stopped. But this one doesn't memorize the current blu-ray/DVD where it was stopped. If you take it out and put it back, you have to start all over.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the price, but aim higher

Pros: It's a BD player with Netflix for a decent price, but there are caveats.

Cons: You CANNOT play ANY video files on a USB stick with this unit. That is not supported on the North American version for some odd reason.

Requires a 1 GB+ USB stick to be inserted for BD Live.

The menus and manual read like they were translated from Korean word-by-word.

Other Thoughts: This player is good for a room that you don't watch a lot of movies in, but don't buy it for your home theatre.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Video

Pros: Quick loading, Beautiful video display, Simplink, Internet options

Cons: You can find faults with the "other" features of this player, but for it's main intended use, it excels.

Other Thoughts: Blu-Ray players have become like cell phones "Look at what my phone can do, I can make a call and fax my boss and check my email and take a picture and........".

I bought my cell phone to.....make calls to other people (I know, how absurd). I bought my blu-ray player to.....play blu-rays. Sure, it may fall a little short on the delivery of it's other features, but what it does flawlessly, is play blu-ray discs. It also brings new life to my DVDs.

I own both the LGBD370 and 390. The 390 loads just a tad quicker than the 370, but the video display is a tough call, both are top of the line quality.

If you're just looking for a player that delivers incredible video, the LGBD370 is the answer, it also plays CDs quite well.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not do the upgrades

Pros: Like the Netflix feature

Cons: I made the mistake of upgrading the software. Now it won't work and I have to send it in. Not only do I have to pay for this because it's past its 90 day warranty (but I only bought it 6 months ago) but it take a week to get the shipping label and it will be gone for 8-12 weeks for repair. Yes, I said 8-12 weeks. I wish I could return it but it looks like I'm stuck with a DVD player that I'm only going to get 6 months of use out of. That averages out to about $30/month. Not worth it.

5 out of 5 eggsGot it for Netflix mostly

Pros: Was watching my Netflix movies and TV shows within 10 minutes of un-boxing it. Have not had any problems with ghosting or jittery even on the HD stuff, works great for me. Never tried the blu-ray as I don't own any nor rent them so far. Plays standard stuff just fine.

Cons: None really so far.

Other Thoughts: Bought this LG from Netflix after a Samsung was returned to a BigBox retailer. It connected to the Internet after I setup the required network address, recognized that an update was available but after that update, it would never connect again. Called Tech Support, told me it was my network. Went over everything again, could ping the Samsung from my internal network but the player would not ping its gateway however it could check for an update and say it was at the latest. So call TechSupport back with the details.. it is my network they say. So took it back.
