4 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Good Price, easy to set up. With its 2 HDMI inputs and 2 optical inputs, this is pretty much a receiver with a built in blu-ray player.

Cons: Home Like can be aggravating to set up on Windows 7, mostly problems with Windows firewall. And be sure this has plenty of ventilation. Had to make a hole in the press-board entertainment center to prevent heat build-up.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Home link, internet streaming, iPod dock, 2 inputs, Wifi

Cons: Main menu screen a little slow and takes a few seconds to power on. Power on is toggle on so using a URC is tricky.

Other Thoughts: Volume goes very loud so not short on power at all. To power on with universal remote I had to use menu options and other tricks but it wasn't to bad to figure out. 2 HDMI inputs are great although I am only using one. Have not had any "buzzing" as other reviews suggested.

2 out of 5 eggsHDMI connector bad

Pros: great features two HDMI Inputs, one output. Wireless network. Blue ray.

Cons: HDMI Connector was bad right out off the box. Called LG Tech support the same night I got the unit and we troubleshot the HDMI connector would not output to tv. The RGB works fine, but I bought it for the HDMI.
Still waiting for LG tech support to send me the RMA, so had the unit more than a week and cant use it yet.

Other Thoughts: Set up a similar unit for a freind and it worked great, thats the reason I even gave this two stars instead of one. Hopefully, I can get this one fixed soon and then start enjoying it. Right now its a paper weight till I can send it to LG for repair.

2 out of 5 eggsNice features, but definite buzzing sound

Pros: Built in wifi gives easy access to youtube, netflix, etc.
Sound for loud movies/music is acceptable, which is great for the price.
Looks good.
HDMI.
Blu-Ray Player.

Cons: -Speakers sound a little hollow, but for under $300 it's to be expected.
-Very sluggish menus, slow to turn on (~30-35 seconds)
-Occasionally crashes while loading/running discs - takes a while to load and has had problems scanning and jumping chapters. (only seen on three disks - no obvious problems seen on the disk)

**There is a high frequency buzzing from the unit all the time when it's on.** It gets lost when the volume is higher, so the unit works fine for loud movies and music, but it remains noticeable at lower levels. I would have RMA'd it for this, but based on other reviewers experiences with the RMA I decided to forgo the trouble and just deal with it.

Other Thoughts: I'm disappointed in LG for putting out a product with this (apparently common) problem, but the other features still make the unit 'acceptable' for the <$300 price range. Would be 4 eggs without the buzzing - sluggish menus would be the main complaint, and that could just be a firmware update away from 5 eggs.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Lots of connections. Not worth the price due to audio. I haven't tried a Blue-ray disk yet or the Home Link functions. Good set of front connections, including the obligatory iPod port.

Cons: The sound quality is very poor! I couldn't save changes to the speaker levels via the remote "Speaker Level" button but had to go through Audio > Setup. While there, I discovered via the Test function that this LHB535
has the surround left and right speaker color code connections backward. Blue is right and grey is left. Great QA! The sound effects speaker levels are inconsistant. In some settings all I could hear were the rear speakers. Change the setting and I couldn't hear the rear speakers at all. Fortunately this unit didn't have the high pitched problem but there is a loud hum when it is not locked into a selection. There is a faint noise while in mute as if the unit is picking up a radio station. I suspect it is always there but just masked.

Other Thoughts: The surround speaker wires were about 3 feet too short for our room. I cut some off the front speakers, soldered and shrink wrapped.

3 out of 5 eggstech issues that LG should fix

Pros: very easy step; my wife set this up while I was in Iraq and had everything running (too include netflix download) in about an hour. Netflix and MLB work good (802.11N is strongly recommended; if you run a B/G/N network change to N only for video streaming). Navigation is KISS simple which is good.

Cons: When playing my Battlestar Galactic BluRay disks, the video freezes after pausing. Was Ok at the start, but gets really frustrating at this persists. I understand compatibility issues at the start, but this is a boxed set, not something that was recorded on a home bluray burner. This should be a fix through a software patch, but after 2 patches LG hasn't fixed the issue.

Other Thoughts: Could be a great system, but the money is where the playback enjoyment is. If they can't fix a simple playback issue, there is a great annoyance when it freezes 4-5 times after I pause the show to refresh a drink.

4 out of 5 eggsso far so good

Pros: Haven't had it but a few days, but it's worked fine so far. Sounds good, I haven't gotten a blu ray to play in it yet, but it's worked fine as a DVD player so far :P. Set it all up in an hour or so and was watching a movie from netflix in just a couple minutes after that.

Cons: Only con I have is that I wish the cables were a few feet longer each. The front speaker cables seem to be meant more for a setup in a long, skinny room and not a wide, short room. So the places where my old speakers were, the wires need to be a bit longer. I think the back speakers will be fine if we run them under the carpet, but I'll probably have to move the front speakers in a little bit closer to the TV. I deducted one egg for that, but it's really more like a -0.5 egg...as I can probably buy the cable and be OK.

3 out of 5 eggssomewhat satisfied

Pros: Ipod dock,
Features(Pandora, vudu, netflix)
WiFi

Cons: Whistling sound,
menu

Other Thoughts: I am on my 2nd unit, the first was returned because of high pitch noise. The second unit sometimes has the pitch noise, but it is not as loud as before. I am disappointed that a brand new unit contains this problem, but i will take that up with LG.
I enjoy this unit, something i do is put my movies on my hard drive and connect thru usb and play my movies that way.

1 out of 5 eggsHigh pitched sound

Pros: Great features for someone looking for an all in one unit.

Cons: First unit was exchanged due to high pitched sound in right speakers, noticable at low volume levels. LG tech support comfirmed it was a defective unit. Second unit had same issue and was returned.

Other Thoughts: This could be a great setup, if not for the issues with high pitched sound on the right speakers.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Dual HDMI inputs and dual optical audio inputs. Streaming services. Good music audio quality.

Cons: Sluggish menu interface,

Other Thoughts: There was a high pitched noised coming out from the front right and center speakers which was audible when the audio source was muted. I sent it back in to LG for repair but all they did was firmware upgrade - something I could have easily done. Received the unit back from them and the problem was still there. Got a RMA for a refund. I have an LG cellphone and washer and dryer, so I am pretty let down over the quality of this product.
