4 out of 5 eggsGood Price, Good Sound, Easy Setup

Pros: Price, setup

Cons: one optical input did not work on the first one I had. Second unit was fine.

Other Thoughts: I have read a description of the soundbar as "industrial looking," and that is a pretty good description. Without covers for the drivers, the bare front is not very stylish, especially if your spouse is concerned with such things. The sub is pretty slick looking.

Hooking the system up was a snap. The sub immediately recognized the wireless connection (placed about 15 feet away from the main unit). I did have some initial trouble because only one of the Optical inputs worked. I took it back to Sam's and exchanged it for another unit and both ports worked fine on the second one. I read several other reviews that mentioned this problem, so I'm not sure what the issue is with LG. I will not hesitate to purchase something online if the price is right. In this case, I'm glad I bought it local because it made the return simple and easy.

My connections are this: 61" Samsung DLP (yeah, I know, old school, but the picture is still

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job for a small room

Pros: Sounds very well, the speaker bar is quite loud. Multi-equalizer settings can be useful but you'll find only two or three are really all you need. Bluetooth was the selling feature for me, it works perfect, we can stream any audio from our phones and laptops.

I also purchased a slim USB drive for MP3, the built in folder navigation for the soundbar works after making the file names as short and distinct as possible.

Cons: The sub woofer needs to be turned up all the way to keep up with the sound bar. There is a slight pop when the woofer kicks in from standby but it works as designed.

The remote is not very intuitive, as the volume buttons do not stand out from the other buttons. In a dark room I still find myself having to fiddle around to find them.

The random feature while using USB isn't all that great. It's not continuous, and will stop playing after awhile. I haven't looked into why but I suspect it doesn't know what to do when it tries to skip beyond the last file, as if it cannot randomly go backwards through the order.

Other Thoughts: It was between this and the Samsung sound bar. I can't be sure if the LG is any better but the finish and length compliments my Samsung 40" perfectly. The Bluetooth feature is cool and seems more Android friendly than then iPhone dock Samsung offered.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent product

Pros: Better quality sound than that of my Flat Panel 10w twin speakers
Easy to setup
Mounting bracket

Cons: Price
Equalizer settings are bad
Display looks annoying.

Other Thoughts: This product should be price at a reasonable $100-$150 for the sound generated. Delivers just enough bass for most gaming and movie needs. For double of the price of this product, you will get at least 200% better sound with an entry level 5.1 speakers and receiver.

5 out of 5 eggsI'd give it 4.5 Eggs if I could. Great, but not Perfect.

Pros: * Very simply to set up
* Attractive technical look
* A variety of sound environments
* Good price for features
* Impressive Bluetooth range
* Can get quite loud without distortion

Cons: Not really a huge con, but it says INPUT 1 on the bright screen facing out. I'd rather it show some sort of EQ band or logo or something.

Also, a few of the presets sound either completely the same to me or muddy. I found Natural and Virtual to sound the best for how my living room and how I use it.

Other Thoughts: I haven't personally messed with any EQ stuff but I read there are custom preset guides out there for this can make a very good all-around sound environment.

At best the Virtual 5.1 is surround sound just sort of "comes from everywhere in front of you". I am more used to a discrete 5.1 system that actually didn't blend that well and certain channels were louder from different sides of the couch. This is a 3.1 soundbar though, so I guess that's exactly how it should be, no egg loss.

3 out of 5 eggsgood, but only for tv

Pros: 1. Good connectivity: 2 fiber inputs, BT, USB.
2. Remote controller is comfortable, has the ability to operate LG tv as well.
3. Good for average size guest room

Cons: Sound is a bit flat, I agree with other reviewers. The only two presets that work for me are Virtual for TV listening, and Bypass for music, others just make no sense for me.

Other Thoughts: This is fine as a replacement of TV sound.
I set up the subwoofer level to -5, otherwise the sound is too "mumble" so to say.
To get any virtual effect you have to sit right in front of the bar. By no means there is surround sound, just phase shift.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Works right out of the box. The sub-woofer Bluetooth found the main unit in seconds. Turned the TV on and it worked. Bam! Just like that. Sounds fantastic.

Cons: This is so minor it's almost not worth mentioning. I have the subwoofer in front of me in the entertainment center. There is a little blue light that is really bright that comes from the sub. I put electrical tape over it because it's so bright. It would be nice if this was dimmed. (Unless I haven't figured it out yet.)

1 out of 5 eggsLG Warranty Service is Useless

Pros: Somewhat decent sound via Optical 2 input.

Cons: Via the Optical 1 input, audio goes out intermittently for 5 to 30 seconds at a time. Also, if you move ahead or back in a tv show, or switch channels completely, it takes approximately 5 seconds for the audio to catch up. This does not happen via Optical Input 1.

Other Thoughts: If you need to contact LG Customer Service for Warranty Service, just throw the product away because it will never be fixed. They'll just keep telling you there is nothing wrong with it and never provide you with one that works.

2 out of 5 eggsA disappointing sound bar

Pros: Much better than the speakers on your TV. Easy to set up. Looks good.

Cons: Shallow sound. Weak subwoofer.

Other Thoughts: I bought this soundbar to compliment my LG plasma TV and I am disappointed with its performance. The sound is shallow and unsatisfying and the subwoofer is weak. I had to crank up the bass all the way to get it to respond and even then I have to turn around and look at it to make sure it is even turned on. I bought the LG with the hope that I could use one remote to control the TV and the volume, but the remote codes are different and I still need two. Nothing a good univeral remote won't fix, but still annoying. There are better sound bar options in this price range.

4 out of 5 eggsIts a sound bar

Pros: Quick and easy setup
Good Sound
Simple remote
Bluetooth (subwoofer)

Cons: Can't be controlled by TV remote
Bluetooth audio connection is poor

Other Thoughts: I got this as a temporary solution so I was more interested in value (sound for $$) than features. Having never owned a sound bar before I wasn't exactly sure what to look for. Now to me the biggest thing is compatibility with TV/Cable remote. This unit accepts Digital Audio input which is good quality. The only problem is the volume level cannot be controlled by the TV/Cable remote. Who wants another remote to control the sound? That's very annoying. Now I'm going to have to buy a Logitech remote just to control the sound. They need a better way to handle this.
