4 out of 5 eggsGreat Media Player

Pros: Great media player for network. Not many formats that are not supported.

Cons: I like to keep my electronics stowed away in a closet and the android app has been neglected. Never updated.

Other Thoughts: It's a great little media player if you had videos on the network, but I would recommend another brand if you are looking for network based remote control.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Particulary Fond Of This Unit

Pros: * I guess I can say wireless although I don't do wireless at home
* I guess I can say 3D but I don't do that at home either
* USB to play external media storage
* Netflix, MOG, Pandora
* 1 Free VUDU movie

Cons: Burned out when I connected it to my new Denon 2112Ci, got a replacement and it also burned out. Both played connected directly to HDTV
twice or more a week it shuts down unexpectedly, sometimes freezes and needs to be unplugged to get it to work again. Regularly Lags aside from it's regular slowness

Other Thoughts: This is my first BD player

1 out of 5 eggsMuch lower quality then Expected

Pros: 3D... Wifi

Cons: "Very glitchy, disk read errors, and painfully slow load times on everything. To get Blurays to load I would need to open the tray and re-close it. All around frustrating." - Agree'd
Also units bur themselves out after 90 days to get you to pay a $60 repair fee. LG designed the firmware system, it's self nuking. My player has been stuck at "BOOT"ing since day 91. LG would not fix under warranty.

Other Thoughts: Name, having many other LG devices I expected much much more quality and didn't even get what you expect from a $50 brand X unit. Horrible unit.

1 out of 5 eggsnot worth the money, don't buy.

Pros: 3D, Wifi and apps (Pandora and Netflix and so on.....)

Cons: Very glitchy, disk read errors, and painfully slow load times on everything. To get Blurays to load I would need to open the tray and re-close it. All around frustrating.

Other Thoughts: for a supposedly top-o-the-line bluray player it is awful. After a month I returned it and get a newer BD620 not perfect but MUCH better

and yes it did have the most current firmware installed

3 out of 5 eggsAudiophiles should avoid

Pros: loads quickly
nice DVD upconversion

Cons: Cannot find a lossless audio codec that this thing supports!
If you want to stream lossless audio files ripped from your CD collection from a home server, forget ALL LG BD players.
It claims to support WMA...OK...BUT NOT LOSSLESS WMA files.
Also it DOES NOT SUPPORT lossless WAVE or FLAC files.

Other Thoughts: Thank goodness my network capable Yamaha RX-A2000 receiver supports anything I throw at it or I'd be out of luck with this sorry excuse for a media player.

4 out of 5 eggsRespectable Performance

Pros: Easy/quick setup
Easy to use interface
Premium services (e.g. Netflix, vudu) easily accessible and perform adequately
DVD/BD/streaming HD works well

Cons: Firmware update worked, albeit took a very long time (~10mins) to download/install via the GUI.
Would not reestablish network connectivity after a reboot of router - had to unplug power cord which restored connection.

Other Thoughts: I think this is a good bargain for a BD player if obtained on sale as we did - my mom is pleased. :)

5 out of 5 eggsLG Knows how to build them

Pros: Wifi built in, can read most video, audio files, netflix capable, small footprint, functional remote.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Just received a firmware update which I'm sure helped improve the software.

3 out of 5 eggsGood but not great

Pros: WiFi and LAN connectivity, upconverts DVDs, has both component and HDMI output

Cons: Doesn't show correct aspect ratio, cheap construction, remote is not backlighted (I knew this before I purchased but it is still a con)

Other Thoughts: Have not yet tried a BluRay disc so I cannot comment on HD picture quality. It does seem to upconvert DVDs OK.

The buttons on the panel and the tray mechanism for discs is cheap and flimsy. The remote is not backlighted, which makes operation in the dark very difficult.

I could forgive all of that if it would show movies with the correct aspect ratio. It usually shows the picture with too much height so everything is a little bit too tall/too thin.

For DVDs it offers aspect ratio choices based on the format of the material. I have tried all choices and none of them shows the picture correctly for any widescreen DVD. (I was able to get the right aspect ratio for fullscreen DVDs but I have very few of them.)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat so far

Pros: Straighforward setup, HD movie streaming from aamazon and Vudo exceeded my expectations

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: After reading a number of reviews I decided to hook this up with a ethernet cable and do all the updates first. After that, the wireless connected right away and has worked impressively ever since with aamazon, pandora, vudu and cinemanow. I'd highly recommend this machine. Haven't actually tried a blu-ray disc yet ...

3 out of 5 eggsIt plays Blu-ray disks well

Pros: -It played DVD & Blu-rays
-Connected to my network (wired)
-Streamed home movies with subs (xvid & .srt)

Cons: -YouTube was so glitchy it was useless
-LG apps (I didnt look at them too close) looked like a buncha garbage I wouldn't need
-Took at least 15 tries to get it to update (from what I read its very common)
-Froze constantly (needed to be turned off then back on)
-Didn't come with a HDMI cable (what am I gonna do with a composite cable?)
-Couldn't FFWD or RWND 50% of the videos I streamed to it

Other Thoughts: Just the lack of proper functionality of the YouTube service was enough for me, its kinda a knock to the ego when your trying to justify to the the wife how cool the new toy you bought is and it won't even work correctly. I don't know if this is the way all sub $200 3D BR players are but this piece of junk got returned and It has made me decide to never buy LG again.
