1 out of 5 eggsUnwarranted

Pros: acceptable load speed, wireless streaming of Netflix

Cons: The remote started malfunctioning within months of receipt, and now has stopped functioning leaving this BD player worthless for streaming.

Other Thoughts: I thought I was being safe by purchasing a 3 year extended warranty. Wrong! New Egg and Service.net refused to honor their warranty because the remote control wa the problem.

1 out of 5 eggsNever Again

Pros: It Worked

Cons: Unit stopped working after less than 3 months, no signal being sent to TV through a working HDMI chord. The customer support website unusable, it wouldn't let me through to register the complaint as it said PLEASE ENTER A VALID CELL NUMBER, even though I had already done so, customer support phone personnel were not knowledgable, told me to hold, and hung up on me. I ususally never give bad reviews. Needless to say, I will NEVER purchase an LG product again. LG - Life is Not Good.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty happy

Pros: Love the True 24fs output

Cons: Wireless dangle on the front. Would have been nice to have a usb port on the back for wireless and tying in an external hard drive.

4 out of 5 eggsForget Computer based BD Players

Pros: Played the first two Blu-Rays I threw at it so far. This is a rarity around my house.

Cons: Volume control. Maybe I should have known but if you HDMI this into a monitor without speakers and then run audio out from your monitor to your speakers you will have no volume control except the volume knob on your speakers. No remote control via this unit.

Other Thoughts: The audio issue is something I didn't anticipate and I'm sure I won't be the only one.
I am done with BD Rom units built into my computers as well as USB BD Rom units, the software is just awful and I've tried them all. Eventually they just don't work. Over four years I have spent several hundred dollars and dozens of hours in the attempt.

2 out of 5 eggsNice, not great

Pros: Wonderful picture and loads blu-ray much faster than other players I've had. It also updates the firmware automatically when connected to a WIFI network. Plays media through USB well, and streams Netflix.

Cons: WIFI is not built in. It is accessed through a USB card and is unstable at times. Mine has also locked up a couple of times and had to be unplugged to reset.

Other Thoughts: All in all, this is a nice player, but nothing like what I expected.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding

Pros: Setup and configuration was easy-just follow the defaults. The wireless functions were not difficult either in that it found my network right away and Netflix was simple to set up.

Cons: Access local network drives is a bit tricky since it relies on CIFS.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this is an excellent deal considering the built in wireless which adds a smart-tv capability to your flat screen. Load times are reasonable and controls easy to operate.

4 out of 5 eggsgood so far

Pros: no major problems so far

Cons: a little slow with the wireless toggle but I got it pretty cheap, don't think I would pay full price for the wifi with the toggle.
