LG NB2020A 2CH Soundbar Each

Pros: This soundbar was very inexpensive (acquired at a box store sale for $50), and yet it delivers exactly what we were looking for: a way to clarify the sound from our minor-brand flat panel TV. We are glad to hear dialog again!

The soundbar is very low profile, and it adds only two wires to your TV stand (power and signal). Connecting the included optical cable was a matter of poking the connector into the back of the TV (make sure yours has an optical rather than RCA connection for digital audio) and then poking the other end into the only hole on the back of the speaker. Its auto-on and auto-off features essentially mean we can ignore its presence, other than when we adjust the volume.

Cons: The remote is a little larger and has a few more buttons that one might expect because it can also change channels on an LG television. The mute button for the TV may be mistaken for the mute button on the soundbar.

While an optical-only soundbar fills its purpose well, it does limit one from connecting an iPhone or a device that uses RCA for its digital output.

Pros: Great sound and the mounting brackets that are included are sturdy and easy to use.

Cons: Can sound tinny when the bar's volume is high and audio source isn't high quality. I've only had this issue on 1 TV station, and that was during a storm so it might not even be the bar's fault.

Pros: It mounts easily

Cons: The volume output of this soundbar is lower than the TV it is attached to. Terrible if you are looking for a louder volume level

Other Thoughts: I would advise against buying this soundbar if you want any serious volume output from an optically connected audio device. Instructions say to change to bitstream from digital, and MAYBE you'll get higher volume, but the TV I have does not allow the changing of the digital audio datastream. Product is useless. I would avoid it.

Pros: minimalistic understated look

Cons: This soundbar was received promptly and set up within minutes. Upon 1st use, I realized the sound was no better than the built-in speakers on my TV, and exhibited no bass at all. It has an auto-on feature which turn the speakers on automatically when the TV is turned on, and should turn off when the TV is powered off. It works...but when turning the feature off via the remote, it won't stay off. Big static "pop' sound when turned on, then ok for several days...after 1 week, the soundbar speakers sound "blown out" and is unusable, since everything now sounds underwater with loud electronic buzzing drowning out all sound. This is a non-refundable item...BOO to Newegg and LG; now I have a $75 huge doorstop after only 1 week of unsatisfying use at minimal sound level usage.

Other Thoughts: Selling an inferior item with no reviews and a no-return policy (only able to exchange for a replacement same item) is a bad move. I've been shopping at Newegg for 10 years and have spent upwards of $60K in purchases from them overall. Newegg: either take this item off of your inventory immediately and tell LG to go back to the drawing board, or offer a refund/exchange like the majority of your other electronics offerings.

Cons: This thing came broken out of the box. Only one Speaker worked. The sound that came out of the one speaker sounded like my laptop speakers. Stay away. Just Awful.

Shame on Newegg for knowing this thing is awful and having a no refund policy.
