5 out of 5 eggsBetter than I'd have though

Pros: Blu-rays boot up quickly. Faster than other dedicated players I've seen.

MKV support is nice. Those animes that never make it to the US, but get fan subbed play with very little hitch. I wasn't expecting that, given the pricing.

Cons: No HDMI cable. The power cable is a wallwart, so it may block some of the outlets in the media center.

Other Thoughts: Good product. Very small (think two optical drives, and that's a bit larger than the player). Included remote has an insane amount of buttons, which are required if you plan on using the Hulu/Netflicks/etc... features bundled with the unit.

I cannot say I've tried out the online features. I've got an HTPC right next to the player (a $60 drive, plus software runs over $100 for the computer to poorly play Blu-rays), and a keyboard is infinitely preferable to a remote when it comes to dealing with the online interfaces.

I would definitely buy another. Just remember to have a decent length HDMI cable on hand when you order.

2 out of 5 eggsonly essentials

Pros: the included wifi is good, but only if you have a subscription to the factory installed apps.

Cons: My main problems are :

- Does not have an audio output (component white/red) if you want to hookup to seperate sound system.

-The Player arrived needing a software update, and for some reason it never completes the download through my wifi. ( some newer movies need the update to be able to play, Cannot watch avatar WTFlip)

- under the display settings, the highest refresh rate output is 60 Hz, so if you have a 120 Hz TV, it is laggy. Good for a more basic 60 Hz TV.

Other Thoughts: Good for low budget Home theater Setup, But if you want the real go

5 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: I bought this for $49 before Black Friday - it sold out in a half a day **twice** at that price. I had been considering the $38 Black Friday deals at other stores but this had built-in wi-fi and the extra features were well worth the extra $.

Cons: I have the included apps on my TV already so I haven't had much use for them at this point. But I was still willing to pay the extra just to have them and the wi-fi built in and to make sure that I got a quality player.

Other Thoughts: It loads fast and has yet to cause me a problem. I'd say if you can find it relatively cheap it's well worth it!

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Does the job with WIFI built in for $, if you need more apps buy a $$$ blu ray player or a PS3. No problems here with remote, as expected response time. Faster than loading with PS3. WIFI is easy to setup. Purchased for $50 on Black Friday! At $60 still a bargain. I dont need more apps that is what my Xbox and ROKU are for.

Cons: people who think that a $50 BD Player should have the options of one $90+ and should do the user's jobs itself.

4 out of 5 eggsGood to know before you buy

Pros: This blu-ray player is great. Love the built-in wifi. Setting it up was a breeze and the front USB port is very cool. The navigation menu is easy to use too.

Cons: My only complaint with this player is that there is no way to download hulu or other apps on this player.

This particular model is only able to use those features which are pre-loaded into the device. These features include Netflix, Vudu, Picasa, YouTube, and AccuWeather. It does not have the capability of downloading any other features.

Other Thoughts: If your looking for blu-ray player that allows you to download apps like hulu,, pandora, etc then look elsewhere.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Player for the Price

Pros: For a low end, wi-fi, smart Blu-Ray player, I had low expectations, especially with the advertised price, so I may be giving this a higher score, as it worked flawlessly out of the box.

The build is okay, a slightly cheap disc cover on the front, and a nice led display, but the shining achievement for this player is the content and applications on the Blu-ray player, blu-rays work great, and this player seamlessly integrated with my LG TV.

Out of the box, completed set up, universal remote control configuration, connected to netflix in less than 5 minutes and it looked great. Blu-rays play great on this machine. Does what is expected from it, and has built in wi-fi.

Cons: Cheaper construction. Limited interface, Single HDMI port.

Other Thoughts: Overall for a cheap Black Friday deal, this blu-ray player was amazing. I would have been disappointed if I did not get this on sale, but for the price I paid, I didn't expect much, and got exactly what it described.

1 out of 5 eggsVery dissatisfied.

Pros: Price.

Cons: Response to the remote's key entries is extremely slow .. I mean it takes about five to ten seconds for the DVD player to respond to an entry. It took me almost an hour to set it up because of this.

This player does not, repeat NOT, have "LG Smart TV (Premium + Apps)" as advertised. It has: Netflix, Vudu, You Tube, Picasa and Accu Weather period. That's it. Nothing else.
