LG Blu-ray Player BP125

Pros: It worked after a firmware upgrade. Sounds good after tinkering with the audio settings. Picture looks good.

Cons: Player kept on resetting a couple minutes into "Brave" at a specific scene. After updating the firmware it worked correctly. This player is very basic. Limited connections.

Other Thoughts: Playing with the audio settings into my Yamaha receiver made a big difference. Default was PCM with 2 channels at 48 mhz. After trying several options, I settled on Bitstream at 192 mhz. That sound was a lot better. You could really hear the difference.

Pros: Goos price, can use harddrive on player.

Cons: Pretty basic, but it does what I need it to do.

Pros: Price, Functional, Does what it supposed to do. Friendly user interface.

Cons: Not a terrible con, but the signal from the manual control has a range of about 12-15 feet, which is better then some older players have but shorter than some other blue players have. Also the signal does not triangulate if manual is facing the direction opposite to the player location.

Pros: Small unit that appears to work well and is relatively cheap in cost.

Cons: No left and right audio out to accompany hdmi connection.

Other Thoughts: I was going to hook this up to 1st generation hdmi television which has no audio through hdmi cable. Audio must be hooked up via left and right rca inputs. I should have checked the description better before I ordered this unit. Price was right so will use it elsewhere. This unit has no wifi capabilities as other reviewer has suggested that it does.

Pros: Price and Blu ray play back. I have not checked out a Blu ray with 3D content yet, so I may have to update my review.

Cons: Weak "Premium content" on-line list. This is a refurbished unit. Mine came in a plain brown box, a copy of the "quick instruction booklet" and no remote control battery. The folks that did the refurb missed their opportunity to properly repair this unit as the WiFi (brown) push-on connector was not pushed all the way in causing the WiFi not to function. I am relatively certain that it came out of the factory this way (that's why it was returned in the first place) as I've heard others including a Newegg reviewer mention the same thing. After reseating the connector, WiFi (for what it's worth) started to work. Very disappointed.

Other Thoughts: If your looking for an inexpensive nice playing Blu ray player and you don't care about web content or variety, and don't mind reseating the WiFi connector, then this is your machine! A steal at what New Egg is selling this for.

Pros: Runs great! No issues at all.

Other Thoughts: Bought to put in my kid's playroom so they can watch all the blu-rays they have without having to use the living room television. And for $45 you can't beat it!

Pros: Fast free shipping! Worked right out of the box! Very good deal!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Downloaded newer firmware from LG website. Still works!

Pros: A little early to comment on it's reliability but for what I bought this player for.... It's exactly what I was looking for. Plugged in my external hard drive and plays movies flawlessly. Even better than my laptop does. I love that it is a slim design. Haven't play Blu-Ray movies yet, but if you are looking for a DVD Player that has USB connectivity to play your backed-up movies.... this one is a spiffy lil player.

Cons: For the price.... none yet

Other Thoughts: Not a con, but the USB input would be even better if it were located in the rear of the device versus the front, but other than that it's a great product!
