4 out of 5 eggsEasy, Sturdy Install

Pros: Went up quick and painless. For it's economic price point, the material felt very strong and sturdy. Withheld my 55" TV with no problems. Backside leaves plenty of space to run cables.

Cons: As others have mentioned, the leveler is garbage. Don't use it. Barely worth removing an egg, but prefer if they wouldn't even include a faulty part.

5 out of 5 eggsYou want THIS mount, not the other one

Pros: + High-quality, durable steel construction
+ Locking bar is a nice touch (see "other thoughts")
+ Just the right range of tilt
+ Easy tilt adjustment

Cons: - Does not tilt up. Some may see this as a problem (see "other thoughts")
- Some might not like how far the TV will stick out from the wall with this mount (due to the tilt feature, see "other thoughts")

Other Thoughts: Purchased this to mount a 42" Panasonic Viera plasma to the wall in my apartment. Mount has since been moved and remounted to a wall in a house.

The mounting hardware included is more than sufficient for virtually all applications I can think of. The included lag bolts are ideal for mounting in wooden studs, and feel very secure. The mounting plate is large (I would not recommend using this mount with anything SMALLER than a 42" tv, as you are likely to see the edges of the mounting plate behind the TV if you do); it is not so large that it feels oversized or obtrusive in any way. I tested the durability of the bracket + bolts by hanging my entire body weight from the bracket (140lbs) and it did not show any signs of weakness.

The VESA mounting arms that you mount to the TV are also quite large, and again, anything smaller than 40" may be pushing it in terms of what is reasonable for a mounting kit of this size range. Each size of bolt I imagine to be possibly needed for different applications of TVs is included, as well as spacers, if needed to make a larger bolt fit or if additional spacing from the mounting arms is needed, etc.

The really nice security feature included with this mounting kit is the included lock bar. This item is visible in the product pictures where all of the pieces are shown. Basically, the mounting arms are mounted to your TV, and then the TV is hung by the hooks on these arms, to the mounting plate. Once hung, the locking bar slides through a hole on one end of the mounting plate, then through holes in the mounting arm hooks, then through a hole on the other end of the mounting plate. Then, a cotter pin can be inserted into this bar, to prevent it from backing out. I have tried jiggling, lifting, sliding, and etc., and no matter how I move the TV, it only moves a little, but maintains a secure feeling.

Note that due to the fact that this is a mount capable of tilting, the back edge of the TV will stick out from the wall about 3 inches. If you wish for your TV to be as flush with the wall as possible, you should look at a flush mount. Tilt mounts allow the TV to tilt by shifting the TV outward from the wall by a couple of inches. I am not sure how other mounts stack up against this one in terms of this offset. For my setup, with a 42" plasma that itself is almost 3" thick, the TV is large enough to where this does not look awkward. A much thinner panel (such as LED) may not look as natural this far out from the wall, however.

There are less expensive mounts out there. But your TV likely cost you a pretty penny. If it is larger than 40" diagonal, and you want to protect it and your wall from the perils of a shoddy mount that could bend and cause damage to the TV, the wall, or both, I'd recommend a solid mounting kit. This one fits the bill, and is priced at a point that I would call reasonable. Definitely not the least expensive kit out there for this size range, but for a flat mount with tilt, this one works

5 out of 5 eggsDid the trick...

Pros: Simple design and very easy to install.
Very sturdy - I mounted it to 2 studs and it is rock solid.

Cons: Doesn't tilt side to side (not really a con for me, but may be for others).
Locking rod requires that you have approximately 3' clearance on one side of the mount. I hung mine in between cabinets, so couldn't use it (still works, however).

Other Thoughts: If you want a simple mount that will handle a 42" flat screen TV, this is a great product. All you need is a drill and phillips head screwdriver and you'll have it up in 15 minutes.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes it's job

Pros: Easy to Install. Rock Solid. Safety bar is a plus.

Cons: Tilting only so my Coax is bent a lot more than I'd like. It's also difficult to see behind the TV to plug in cables, but it's not impossible.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat wall mount

Pros: Easy to install. Very strong, good quality. Gives enough room off the wall to connect cables to TV. Lots of bolts, spacers and a level included. My wife loves the LED TV mounted on the wall.

Cons: The included level is lacking, so use your own. Instruction booklet is small, so diagrams are a little hard to read.

Other Thoughts: Installed a 40" Toshiba LED on this mount. I've never installed a mount before, and am not the most handy do it yourselfer. However, I took my time and got the bracket installed and TV mounted in under an hour. They include a level, but I felt it was lacking. Use your own level and a good quality stud finder. Make sure to mount the lag bolt to the middle of the stud to prevent cracking or splitting the wood. I was able to hit three studs with this mount, so the mount is real strong.
