Rosewill RCP-E152C 150W Can Sized Silence Car Inverter with 2.1Amp USB Port

Pros: Quiet. USB is on always. Does not get hot (aka it is efficient). Actually is 2 amps, unlike many others. Fits well in a cup holder if needed.

Cons: Light is very bright. Kind of large.

Other Thoughts: The size isn't much of an issue for me. I keep it in my center console between my seats, which has a 12V dc outlet in it. It provides enough power to charge my tablet or phone as well as the 2 amp wall charger. I've also used it to run laptops during road trips and it works very well. The light comes on only when you turn it on. It's bright and you can't cover it (the light is inside the unit and the cap is plastic and is made to diffuse the light). Not an issue if you hid it in a console or under a seat.

Pros: AC outlet works.

Cons: USB port won't charge my iPad 3rd gen. First unit I received had this problem, so I was issued an RMA for another. Second unit I received seemed to be working at first, but then it seems that when the unit gets warm to the touch, the USB port stops charging the iPad. Wonder of Rosewill/Newegg could make this right by either refunding my purchase or sending another one making sure it can charge the iPad 3 for more than a minute.

Blue light was insanely bright. Quite distracting at night as it lit up the interior of my car.

Other Thoughts: Got this just for the extra power for my iPad because using the iPad with GPS on in the car draws so much power, my regular car charger can't keep up with it. But it doesn't even work for that.

Pros: I bought this inverter to charge electronics (don't like to use DC on electronics) with the AC outlet and USB I am able to charge my phone as well as my tablet on my way to school or work.

Cons: I hadn't really considered it when I bought it but the cord is not long enough to stretch from the DC outlet to under the passenger seat where I stored my last inverter.

Pros: QUIET, runs 24/7 without issues. Bright light useful as nite light in RV. Runs DishNetwork HD receiver nicely for hours. Warning lights flashes for under/over voltage.

Cons: Everything is located together on top, so very easy to accidentally toggle push click on/off button, when trying to plug in USB & cord. Starts blinking at over half watt total usage.

Other Thoughts: Got this for 12v camping with modest power electronics 22in LED HDTV and DishHD will play for 12-14 hours on my over-sized deep cycle RV setup. The cutoff voltage (for low battery protection) is too high for my deep cell but would be perfect used with regular car/truck battery at 12.7v (in use measured with volt meter) Unit flashes when over voltage at 15.5 (battery equalization) but continue running nicely. I leave my RVs DishHD on this 24/7 now for months even when hooked up to regular power elcheapo UPS.

Pros: Works as advertised.

Cons: None...got it dirt cheap and worth every penny.

Other Thoughts: Just took this bad boy on a 1600 mile road trip and it never had any problems. Didn't get warm. Worked perfectly and powered a LCD TV (Vizio 21"...I think), Western Digital TV Live Plus, external hard drive, and recharged a Wagam Power Dome EX400 all at the same time. My experience with Rosewill products has been hit or miss...this one is a big hit!

Pros: Worked like a charm. Just what I was looking for. Very simple to operate.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Einstein's Theory of Relativity; E=MC2

Pros: Conveniently fits in cup holder, high power USB port

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The inverter fits into the cup holder perfectly, making it extremely convenient to use. There is no fan/etc so it's completely quiet. The USB port provides 2.1amp, so my phone charges easily even with features (bluetooth, gps, etc) enabled and active.

Pros: usb port is working.
fanless, make no noise.

Cons: AC outlet doesn't work.

Other Thoughts: RMA for replacement. It costs $11 to ship back item to newegg on my expense. Only hope replacement item will be working.

Pros: When plugged into lighter on 2011 toyota, the inverter came on.

Cons: The dell charger came on when plugged into the inverter; however the dell laptop immediately started switching from battery to charger as the current was not continuous through the inverter to the laptop. I was concerned that the laptop might fail thus I unplugged the inverter and will not use it to supply continual power to the laptop.
I have not tried to simply charge the battery once it becomes drained and perhaps the inverter could safely be used for this purpose; thus 1 star is awarded for hope of some use for this inverter.

Pros: Size and shape, the USB works

Cons: The outlet works intermittently, in the worst way...meaning that it connects momentarily if you jiggle the plugged in AC plug, as opposed to disconnecting periodically if bumped. It has the usual warnings about breaking the seal voiding the warranty, so if I open it to check for a possible bad connection that could be easily repaired and it turns out to be something worse, I'm .....ed!

Other Thoughts: Manufacturers of cheap, borderline products such as these should change their policy. If they want to scrimp on QC, the end user should be allowed to attempt a repair without penalty. It would make for much happier customers, and increased sales. Many people that opt for a more expensive solution to (theoretically) avoid the peril of shoddy workmanship might purchase the cheaper one if they had the option of fixing results of cheap labor without penalty.
