5 out of 5 eggsHappy with it.

Pros: Uses D batteries, cheaper and last longer than AA or AAA. It's big and heavy, so what? Big light so weight is proportionate. I got what I expected. Got it, put in batteries, works great.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It's everything a flashlight should be. I would recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Flashlight Yet

Pros: Brightest cheapest flashlight I have ever bought, not to mention very sturdy and large, not a cheap flashlight by any means. JUST BUY IT, YOU WILL BE HAPPY I PROMISE.

Cons: Gave it to my Dad for Christmas, he uses it for BBQ'ing in the dark and shooting at racoons...

Other Thoughts: $17 on sale, should have bought multiple, I'm regretting it now. Even Mag-light isn't this good, and they are 3x the price, I own two of their flashlights.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent light - D Cell for self defense

Pros: Bright - solid - can be used for self defense due to its weight.

Cons: A little lighter aluminum than expected

Other Thoughts: People complain that this is a D cell light where an AA would have given the same voltage. The truth is that D cells not only last much longer, but they also provide weight to this light. If you are using this flashlight against an aggressor do you want to tap him with the AA version of this light or use a stronger statement with this D cell light

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Well built, look and feel of good quality made in Taiwan, its bright but not as bright as i expected base on reviews of others, but for $18 shipped its well worth it. The on and off button act also as a flash signal and then push slightly harder it will shut off and i have no problem with that. Its good value, I am consider buying two more for my two daughters.

Cons: Wish the focus is adjustable and have one lower battery saving light setting like 50%

4 out of 5 eggsNice Product

Pros: Bright Light

Obscene battery life

Fancy Looks

Cons: Bulky for the amount of light output. Smaller, more efficient LED technology which uses much less power is supposed to make things SMALLER, not bigger. Why they chose the three "D" battery arrangement is beyond me. "AA" battery size would have more than enough capacity.

The weight with three "D" alkaline batteries makes dropping this thing hazardous not only for your toes, but for the flashlight itself. It's doubtful the cheap PCB the LED is mounted on would survive a fall from any decent height.

Other Thoughts: I like the flashlight, but it's really cumbersome which limits its usefulness. The light is plenty bright, but I prefer the smaller multi-LED flashlights that use "AA" or even "AAA" batteries.

Still it's worth the price, especially if you like your flashlights to double as a nightstick.

5 out of 5 eggsREALLY bright flashlight!

Pros: Extremely bright light (don't try to look at it directly!); looks and feels rugged; has gaskets and membrane over switch, so it may be waterproof

Cons: 1) I agree with others: the battery orientation insert is misleading, as it implies the batteries should be installed "backwards" from the normal orientation for a flashlight. Ignore the insert, and insert the batteries with the positive terminal pointed towards the front of the flashlight.

2) You must screw the end cap on TIGHTLY before the thing will work. I thought mine was dead (even tried reversing the batteries [see Number 1]) until I cranked down on the end cap and scrunched the gasket.

Other Thoughts: As others have mentioned, the switch is sensitive to a light touch when the flashlight is ON; however, I think that might be useful. With just a touch, you can pulse the light -- could be handy for signalling or attracting attention. The light touch does not turn the flashlight OFF; you still must press (and click) the switch to actually turn the light OFF.

Great flashlight; wait for a sale and then snap one up!

5 out of 5 eggsGood deal on sale

Pros: Nice bright white light for the money when on sale. No problem with two of them so far.

Cons: Lens is not a very durable plastic, probably good enough for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsLet there be light!

Pros: -Very bright
-Long life LED (remains to be seen)
-uses 3D batteries instead of a rediculous number of AAs
-Can stand vertically on end cap & use as a latern to illuminate the whole room

Cons: -Hair trigger power button
-End cap must be very securely tightened to complete electrical circuit

Other Thoughts: You'd be cazy not o buy one, esoecially when on sale. I bought 3...
