3 out of 5 eggsThe worst remote i have ever used!

Pros: the player works very well.Very nice looking and puts out
great audio and video. The menu is laid out well and is easy to use.

Cons: When I ordered this blueray player.I thought I was getting
a touchscreen remote with a lcd readout.I took out the remote and the screen was black.I thought it was a protective cover. It was not.You have to touch the remote in certain areas to get it to work.It was so ridiculous I had to call Panasonic to send me a different type of remote.
If you buy this player and use the original remote. You will understand where I am coming from. The player itself is great.

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad, not great.

Pros: Small. Nice looking. Almost stealthy.

Cons: Expensive.

I HATE the remote. They tried to be slick with a touch pad and various finger swipes for control. I find that I have to turn on an onscreen keypad just to navigate the imaginary buttons.

Paired with a fairly high-end Panasonic Plasma via an expensive high-bandwidth HDMI cable, the image still has scrolling noise and grain, especially noticeable when viewing 3D content. There's even a perceptible flicker when viewing the menu screens that I haven't been able to stop.

There are only two outputs: one optical audio port and one HDMI port. That's it. The audio goes out the HDMI, so you don't have to use the optical, but your surround system must accept one or the other.

Other Thoughts: I paid a bit more that I meant to for a blueray player and definitely feel the buyer's remorse. I suspect that there are equal or better players for less money, and without the quirks.

By trade, I am an electronic/electrical technician and troubleshooter. I say this only because I tend to delve deeper and understand technical functions better than the average kitchen helper. This, however, does not make me an expert.
