5 out of 5 eggsWhat a Picture!

Pros: What a great picture. What a great price. I love it.

Cons: Sure it's a bit slow in loading the disc and initializing. I can handle that. Also, I haven't been able to figure out how to get my Sony AV Receiver to automatically configure itself based upon the audio data, but I am believe that my system can do it. (It worked great with my Sony DVD player.)

Other Thoughts: I hear so much about so-called improvements to electronics that I was relieved and gratified to see what a difference the Blueray picture quality made. Great value, Newegg!

5 out of 5 eggsNewegg Great As Always

Pros: Got this product on sale for roughly $100, $25 less than any other retailer. Product does exactly what is expected from a low-end Blu-ray player. Works fine out of the box, plugged it into my router and updated the firmware within minutes. PS3 interface is very nice and simple to use.Bought this for my parents, so the basic features is all they need.

Cons: Pretty much what everybody else had to say. No eject button on remote. No internal storage for accesing BD Live. Kinda slow load times. Would be nice if they at least threw in component cables. Overall though these gripes are minor as it is a LOW END Blu-ray player costing $100.

Other Thoughts: Great deal for the price. If you need a basic Blu-ray player then you have it right here. Newegg service and shipping is the best around, as always.

*Note to Newegg: You should advise customers that the RMA Warehouse is the default return address for all packages, thought I was getting a return/refurb until I investigated it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Blu Ray player

Pros: This is a really good Blu Ray player for the money. I like the design and the slickness of the blu ray player.

It has a very nice easy setup but, I do recommend that you read the Manuel for this blu ray player if you don't know what to do or how to set this up. Very important to read that Manuel.

Very Easy and nice Cable Connections not hard at all, has the Ethernet Port for 100MBS So you can update the Firmware and such.

I almost forgot to mention that This is really Cool. When you load a normal DVD Movie it glows out a White Light. To tell you its a Normal DVD Playing. But, if you put a Blu Ray DVD Movie in the Light on the dash of the player glows Blue. Its really cool.

Cons: The Reason this Blu Ray Player Got a 4 out of 5 egg star rating is because, The Remote does not have a Eject butten. I have no problem with this because I always take my movies out anyway. Second when the movie loads and you get to the menu you don't push the play butten on the remote, you hit the enter ( Center butten ) in order to play the movie. Only When you Pause the Movie is when you hit play to continue the movie.

Another thing is most DVD Players and BluRay Players have a memory program were if you Stopped the movie and went back to menu and if you pushed play it would pick up from were it last stopped at. This one does not do that.

You Can buy a USB Flash Drive, That says in the Manuel which kinds to get that will work for it. You do need this Extra Memory in order to do the BD-LIVE Thing. But other then that you can put music or pictures on the flash drive and look them on your TV.

Other Thoughts: This is my First Blu Ray Player but, I tend to know much on the techie side of things. I did A LOT OF RESEARCH before I bought this player.

I did buy my High Def Cables from Newegg.com for like 4.99 and that is a 6' cable. But, I went to Walmart to get my Optical Cables because they were same price as newegg and such. Saved some shipping time.

4 out of 5 eggsgood basic blu ray

Pros: very good picture and audio

Cons: Transport is a little noisy when loading a disc (but I don't hear it once the movie is playing).

Other Thoughts: This is my first and only blu ray player, so I don't have any other to compare it with. Still, it seems decent for the price. One other thing: I sometimes use it to play audio CDs while working on my computer. I run the output from the Sony to a stereo receiver which drives a couple of Polk Monitor 30's; it sounds great. I compared the sound with that of my computer's sound card (Turtle Beach Riviera)--the Sony was head and shoulders better sonically.

4 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: Got this for almost a month now, been watching blu-ray and DVD movies almost every day, and great with CD music as well.... this thing helps keeping my PS3 life last longer. and eating less energy too.

Cons: Why does everything gotta have loading theses days?! but it's not really a bad loading time tho, just wanna point out that's all

Other Thoughts: The update thru the ethernet internet at first plugged in went like about only 10 minutes for me... unlike someone else complaining about.

2 out of 5 eggsGood player if you dont own a LG55LH90

Pros: Works great in every resolution except 1080p

Cons: . No eject button on remote. When I set this unit to 1080P I get video distortion & audio popping through the speakers. The unit has been exchanged, & the new unit had the same faults. I must say that this unit works well at every resolution up to 1080I. When sony was contacted they became rude & unhelpful after they found out that this unit was hooked up to a LG55LH90. I was unable to get any assistance after that fact was known. Sony said that it was my TV, but I disagreed since my x-box 360 sends output in 1080P with zero issue.

Other Thoughts: I am left wondering why I keep trying to buy sony, thinking that I am going to get a quality product with helpful customer service. When I explained that the unit had been exchanged and different hdmi cables were tried, the answer I received was contact LG. What if I was having difficulty with a PS-3. I am left with a hurt feeling in my gut & have come to the conclusion that I need to get a LG blu ray player so if I have any issues I only have to contact LG. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN SONY CUSTOMER SERVICE.

4 out of 5 eggsNot to bad

Pros: Fantastic picture and sound. I could hardly believe my eyes when I put in UP. I was astounded. It is so sharp and clear. Thumbs up on picture and sound

Cons: Somewhat slow at loading Blu Ray movies, but it does work. Ethernet seems to be only good for firmware updates.
BD Live is a joke. Takes forever to load and I have an ultra fast internet connection. The player somewhat loud when seeking, but once it is playing it's quiet.

Other Thoughts: I am satisfied with my purchase. I knew what I was getting when I ordered it as I had read all the reviews and reviews from other sites. I am happy with it. I have an xbox attached to the same tv so I don't care about netflix or anything online with my blu ray player. I just wanted to watch HD movies on my new Vizio 32 in 1080P XVT TV. And, it is without a doubt, a very very nice picutre.

3 out of 5 eggsIt isn't too bad

Pros: It works
It has an Ethernet port
It has all the AV connections one needs including HDMI

Cons: It is very slow. Probably one of the slowest disc players I have seen.

Ethernet is only good for updating the firmware and really has no other uses. What a waste of a good connection.

The machine is bulky. For the small amount of features it could be smaller.

Other Thoughts: I received this player free as part of a Newegg.com promo. If it hadn't been free I would not have purchased it. The player functions and play back is really good, but I have seen much better products and not for much more. Sony should really consider a firmware upgrade to at least include Netflix connectivity and to speed up start up times.

1 out of 5 eggsUnusable.

Pros: None.

Cons: HDMI signal drops randomly, though sound continues (through analog cables). Happens when playing Blue-Ray or regular DVD's. The TV -- also a Sony - works fine when playing content from other sources, such as the computer I have connected to it (also through HDMI).

I have experienced this signal loss with two Blue-Ray and two DVD disks - all of them brand-new, never before watched, store-bought disks.
