4 out of 5 eggsOverall excellent choice with balance of Quality/price

Pros: Took 15 minutes to get it up and running. A really cool feature is the calibration mic. It worked beyond my expectations. Nice quality subwoofer with a great variety and depth of sounds. The system itself is very loud and clear even though the speakers are small and convenient. 3 hdmi inputs means that I get excellent HD sound quality from all my hdmi devices but only have one hdmi cable output going through the wall to my 46in led. This makes COD: BO on my 360 the most immersive video game I have ever experienced and I can't wait to dig in my drawer and pull out some of my old racing games now. I didn't have much time but I demo'd Transformers Blu Ray, COD:BO, and HD cable. All passed with flying colors and I can't wait till the families out of the house again so I can make my den go BOOM BOOM AGAIN!

Cons: Now the bad stuff....

Menu/settings is all on the small display from basically one button instead of on the television or having a few different buttons to access different menu sections. Very surprising even at this low price point. I guess I'll just have to get used to a bunch of button pushes to make the simplest adjustments.

Front speaker wires are only about 10 feet but I can just add extra wire since the wiring that goes into the speaker itself uses those clampy things and isn't proprietory like the system inputs are.

No 3.5 input mp3 player jack? Not cool. The Mic calibration input is actually a 3.5 input. Why not just double that as a digital 3.5 mp3 input? That's why there are 4 eggs.

Other Thoughts: Here I basically just bash the 600wt RCA SS I grabbed at walmart on a lark. Overall I recommend this HT-SS370 surround sound system at the $250 price point even though it's missing a couple convenient features that are pretty much standard these days. I had hastily bought a RCA system at walmart because it was only $158 and had 3 hdmi inputs. It had a great remote with sectional buttons and a front 3.5 jack but the sound quality and subwoofer sound variety were definitely lacking and I'm glad my month of researching and trying to be thrifty wasn't wasted on settling for less.

I already did that with my wife. :/

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome sound!

Pros: Outstanding sound. I love it how you can use three hdmi inputs. Currently have the PS3 connected via HDMI to this as well as my LED via optical cable. This is my first HT setup, I couldn't be more pleased. I got an amazing deal after using my newegg gift card that I earned late last year. Setup was very easy, love how you have so many inputs!

Cons: None really, wished it had the S-AIR component but I already knew that it would come with one before I bought it.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you set your PS3's audio setting once it's connected. It only played 2.1 Channels on Blu-Ray while have the awesome 5.1 kick in when playing games. I went ahead and redid the sound settings on the PS3, now I'm enjoying 5.1 sorround sound in everything I play.

5 out of 5 eggsI love it!

Pros: Once you get everything tweeked it sounds amazing. I really like the multiple HDMI input feature, I have my Xbox and blu-ray player hooked up to it and it has great sound with both devices.

Cons: the front speaker cables are a little short, but it's not a big deal, all you need is some more speaker wire and a soldering iron. the stock wires are about 10ft.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome system

Pros: Excellent sound for the price for a small to medium sized room. Its definitely no BOSE, but it sounds good for what you pay and the different modes of playback sound nice.

Cons: the manual sucks. i basically had to figure everything out myself

Other Thoughts: for someone who doesnt need the best, and wants just simple surround for tv, movies, sports, and video games... this system is definitely for you!

Pros: Sound is pretty good, better than I expected. Pieces are relatively small and easy to assemble/hook-up.

Cons: Subwoofer wire is fairly short. BIGGEST COMPLAINT - THE "Overview" here at NewEgg states "The wireless rear speakers are perfect for wall-mounting or standing on shelves allowing you to personalize your entertainment center." - NONE OF THESE SPEAKERS ARE WIRELESS. You are required to purchase an additional Transmitter (approx $50) as well as a rear-speaker amp (approx $135) if you want to have wireless surround speakers!!!!

Other Thoughts: Pretty average presentation, and sound. Very disappointed that I was lead to believe the rear speakers were wireless. This should be made more clear. In all fairness, the box itself does state that this system is CAPABLE of wireless rear-speaker use with other parts sold separately, but the Overview here on NewEgg does not.

4 out of 5 eggsSony HT-SS370

Pros: Great choice for family-friendly home theater (read: tech-illiterate wife who wants fewer remotes on the coffee table). Simple, elegant design. Speakers are fairly small and very easy to mount on walls. 3x HDMI inputs, one output. Aux (calls it SACD) RCA audio input, which I use for my Airport Express. Separate optical audio inputs are available to pair with 2 HDMI inputs. FM & AM radio. Bravia Sync is very smooth - really simplifies operation of the system. I have it hooked to a 46" Bravia LCD TV, Sony DVD player, and a Roku Netflix box. Love the one-touch on/off for the components I use most frequently. The TV and receiver communicate intelligently over HDMI - if I've turned on the TV but not the receiver, the TV speakers turn on. But when I turn on the receiver, it automatically switches the TV to fixed volume line-out.

Cons: The remote is complex, and doesn't give you any indication of what device you currently have selected - your only feedback is that desired commands aren't happening. Some functions require you to hold two buttons down at the same time - for example, to "channel flip" on the TV, you have to hold down the TV button while pushing the channel +/- button. Be careful if you're colorblind! Alternate functions for the button are coded in yellow and lavender, which can be tough to read in low light. Set-up instructions make it clear that you CAN use optical audio inputs, but don't tell you WHY you'd want to use them vs. the HDMI connection alone.

Other Thoughts: This has been a great addition to my home theater set up, especially considering the price. The sound is great in a small room - my family room is about 15x18, with an adjacent open kitchen. The sub is powered only by the receiver - no separate power use or on/off switch. Do your research before you buy! So many people give products bad reviews due to features they don't offer. I only use a few components, primarily the Netflix box and DVD player. Over-the-air digital TV signals are handled by the TV directly. This receiver is more versatile than the Sony HTIB w/ integrated BluRay products, despite its apparent simplicity. Those devices do NOT have HDMI inputs, which I found frustrating. Now, if only Sony would build Bravia Sync into the PS3...

3 out of 5 eggsAgain mislead

Pros: For all the things it does do, it does them great. Great sound, automatic calibration, connect seamlessly to my Bravia TV and the Blu-ray player I purchased along with it.

Cons: It is not a Blu-ray player (I picked up on that)
It DOES NOT have the S-Air rear module included. The Features should separate the rear wireless from the multi-room feature
It should say: "Wireless S-AIR Rear Speakers compatible & multi-room capable"
It DOES NOT come with the DMPort (sold Separately, it just comes with a place to plug it in).... It should not state that as a feature since it does not come with it. Again it should likely say "Digital Media Port compatible" to imply that it is sold separately.

Other Thoughts: I searched the entire Internet for a clear explanation of what this thing comes with and every where was vague. It's just the unit and speakers with a remote. No wireless rear speakers and the Digital Media Port must be purchased separately.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Awesome Features, Pass-Through so you can use your standard TV speakers if you want with everything still connected, good bass, good overall sound.. fantastic price and excellent build quality

Cons: Not really any cons, Does not come with speaker mounting kits but also does not say it does.

Other Thoughts: Def worth the purchase, Dive in! Have it hooked up to my Xbox360, PS3 and my HD-TV Cable Box, Works flawless and my 32' 720p Sharp has never sounded so good.

3 out of 5 eggsNOT a Blue Ray Player

Pros: Solid audio system. Sound quality is good and al the pieces were easy to set up.

Cons: Product Description VERY misleading; this is NOT a BlueRay player, but is capable of decoding Blueray audio sources! Do not buy thinking there is a player built in.
