You'll be able to connect Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, satellite and cable boxes and more without any extra adapters. You can also attach your MP3 player via the Digital Media Port with a separately sold cradle. As an added bonus, the STR-DH810 can take advantage of S-AIR technology, which offers wireless connectivity to speakers with the proper separately sold accessories. 5 out of 5 eggsSo Far.. So GREAT!!

Pros: Very nice. I LOVE the sync tech that's in this receiver.. It just happens, I got a Sony BRAVIA Flat screen and Sony Blu-Ray player for christmas. Set up was pretty simple, especially with the auto-calibration feature.

I just watched Inception, a REAL Bass killing movie..
First on Christmas Day, up at my Father's place... and at a mild setting, his RCA receiver "Overloaded" as it stated on the display. and has since quit working. I watched Inception on my set up with THIS Sony Receiver... and, I haven't had a problem.. other needing to remove some glass light fixtures around my house due to the rattle!!!

I LOVE THIS RECEIVER..... so far =)

Cons: None Yet... other than making me feel like i need to remodel my living room into a full blown theater!

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice receiver

Pros: The 4 HDMI inputs is what sold me. The Bravia Sync works really well... I turn on the lcd, then the receiver clicks on, as well as the PS3. One button!!! DVD upscaling is another feature that swayed me versus the step down model STR- DH710. I was actually shocked to find out that this receiver came with its own microphone, not to use for inputting sound, but to automatically calibrate the sound settings(distances of speakers from the target listening area, distances from each other, etc). But for those who want to manually adjust the settings, its fully customizable. It also has great power to send to all of its channels. And with several sound field options built in, it is very versatile in its ability to deliver the type of sound the end user expects to hear, whether its watching movies, playing video games, or jammin tunes.

Cons: No power outlet for the subwoofer power supply to automatically shut the sub off when the amp is powered down. Not a big deal, but this is America, where convenience is key. Just sayin... Other than that, no issues.

Other Thoughts: This A/V receiver isn't the greatest model out on the market, but who of us can really afford that setup. For the typical end user, such as myself, the Sony STR-DH810 gave me everything I was looking for... an HDMI capable A/V receiver with decent power and at least 5 channels for home theater.

4 out of 5 eggsSTR-DH810

Pros: Works great with Sony 50+ inch, Sony blueray. and Bose speaker system. You have to scratch yur head alot trying to read setup instructoins, but once done, what a joy!

Cons: I have seen better speaker connections on a potato!
Good thing system has auto-cal. You think you have speakers connected, turn unit around, start auto-cal, and it tells you one or another speaker is not connected!
This can go on for a long time, but after it's finally fixed, it's a very good system.
1 egg off for speaker connections.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: This is the best receiver I could have asked for. The sound quality is great, the amount of inputs is more than enough, and its a cinch to set up. Works great for all my gaming systems. Fantastic price (I bought it at $280 free shipping) 3D HDTV support.

Cons: Setting up speaker zones (a and b) is not well defined in user manual, but if you know how to do it, it's not hard. Requires extra transmitter for S-Air support (but they're cheap). Few Sony DMPORT devices exist for iPod/iPhone docks and none are really any good, but none of this is enough to peg it down even a point.

Other Thoughts: I had a fun adventure learning how to update the firmware on this thing in order to get it to support 3D HDTV. You have to play a specially burned music CD through it using the TV optical input. Reminds me of the old Apples or Adams with casette tapes. I posted a YouTube video on how to do it just check "How to Make your Sony 7.1 Receiver Support 3D Blu-Ray" on YouTube if you're curious.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Great wattage for the price. Easy to use. Great sound.

Is now compatible with 3D with firmware upgrade.

Cons: No on-screen menu!! Setting things up through the little screen is a pain.

4 out of 5 eggsReview update (after repairs)

Pros: Works fine - so far.

Cons: Received in a "blank" box, bubble wrapped.

Other Thoughts: Received it back from Sony repair center after about 3 weeks. I am seeing a BIG difference in performance after the repairs. Probably, it was not only fixed, but also updated (firmware or something else), too. Surprisingly, it does not heat as much as it did before sending for repairs, and now I get "dolby digital" audio as well. The humming noise came from the unit is also gone! Hopefully, this time it won't break!!

3 out of 5 eggsWorked well and then..

Pros: Decent sound. No problems when working. Speaker calibration capable.

Cons: Some digital display items are very hard to read (too small).

Other Thoughts: Had to send it back to Sony for repairs after 7 months of light use. It stopped transferring video signal first and then audio, too. I had to pay for shipping to send it in to Sory Repair Services.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Receiver

Pros: A great receiver with lots of features. Auto-calibration works well and it has plenty of power (seems to have more power my Sony STR-DE 997 that it is replacing , which is rated at 110 watts per channel). I like the HDMI passthrough that allows you to watch TV with the receiver turned off
(good for my wife who does not like surround sound). Blu-Ray movies look great and sound great with surround sound using HDMI cables. I am using Polk monitor 40 front speakers monitor 30 rear speakers.
Also, the remote can be programmed ( works with comcast DVR and Panasonic TV and blu-ray player).

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Reciever

Pros: Great for its price. Plenty of inputs and codecs. Video and sound quality is great.

Cons: No HDMI 1.4 and no Onscreen menu, but I was aware of this. Manual can be a bit hard to follow. Receiver can get pretty hot.

Other Thoughts: Got these on a sale in Newegg. I use this to power a 7.1 system in my bedroom, and is hooked up with my HDTV, 360, PS3, Wii, and even my PC. Of course there are better ones out there, but for this price range, I don't think you can get any better than this.
