1 out of 5 eggsNON-3D Blu-ray player for $400? Sorry, not.

Pros: A good idea, but do you really need this?

Cons: Is not 3D. That's all you need to know really.

Other Thoughts: I bought this as part of an official Sony 3D package, which included a huge 3D LED TV, two pairs of 3D glasses, a 3D Blu-ray disk, a 3D transmitter, and this Blu-ray player.

The problem is that THIS BLU-RAY PLAYER DOES NOT PLAY 3D BLU-RAY DISKS. I cannot understand why Sony would market this device as part of a 3D package!

If you buy it (this listing is not for a bundle, but for the stand-alone device) just do so knowing that this is old technology. No 3D.

My TV already has Netflix, Pandora, Hulu, and all that stuff, and I already have a computer for surfing the web. The only thing I really needed this for was watching Blu-ray disks, and it doesn't do that any better than a 3D unit that costs less than half the price.

Don't buy.

1 out of 5 eggsLooks nice. Doesn't work.

Pros: Looks cool...

Cons: I just got a brand new Sony Internet TV box with the BluRay, and everything seemed to set up ok, until I tried to watch TV, and the channels just came in and out. On briefly, then a blue screen, then black, then snow, then on again, etc. It simply didn't receive channels properly. I called tech. support, who had me to do what I'd already done: connect directly to the TV instead of thru the receiver (all Sony products), turn off and on this and that. Finally she told me I needed to send it in for repairs AT MY EXPENSE! It was BRAND NEW! I ended up just returning it to Best Buy. I've bought Sony for years, and will cont. to do so, but I will NEVER buy nor recommend Sony Internet TV products again, mainly because of my experience with their “tech. support”. Worthless. Anyway, BluRay players do pretty much the same thing.

Other Thoughts: I just couldn't get it to get cable tv channels. Rather worthless...
