N/A 7/31/2012 10:21:20 PM Tech Level: 4/5 Ownership: 3/5 Verified Owner	Rating: 5/5Sony Blu-Ray player Refurb Pros: Looks brand new, plays Blueray disks just fine, DVD up-convert looks nice, included controller can also control a TV. Cons: Using the device menu interface to browse available media and system settings is not smooth, however it plays DVDs, BDs, and other media very smoothly so this does not bother me at all. Other Thoughts: I believe in order to connect to a wireless network you need to purchase another device. This is not the case for me as I have it hard wired. Did you find this review helpful? Makes all my old DVD's look new again. I haven't but a few of them so far but it even displays my old non anamorphic DVD's in the correct aspect ratio without me fumbling with the zoom settings on my tv. Big plus there. Cons: In my case the 2 AA batteries weren't included, no biggie. Other Thoughts: Player was clean, could pass for new, remote, book, cables all new. Very pleased, especially for the price. Gotta try the SACD function to see if it lives up to some of the reviews I've read on the net. I had been watching Blu Ray and DVD on my 47" LCD through my PC using Avermedia Total Media Theatre, Have an ATI Radeon HD5430 DVI right to the TV and this Sony player makes both Blu Ray and DVDs look much better. Pros: small, easy hookup, nice picture from usb drive Cons: remote will not work tv functions...NO network connectivity, cannot read anything from network machines...BIG minus. will NOT play mkv format files, though is stated in info it will... Good equipment, easy to use, good picture from DVD and Media streaming on the internet, with optional USB WiFi adapter. The unit can be hook up directly on the intranet. Cons: I did not read carefully and It is not clearly explained that this unit is not WiFi out of the box, beware of the wifi "ready" statement. The Wi Fi is not build in. I had to spend 70 additional dollars to purchased the only usb unit (sony Bravia) that is compatible with this unit to make it a true WiFi.
