5 out of 5 eggsNice touch!

Pros: I used this speaker to replace the small Sony I had been using for several years. I have not had any of the distortion issues other users have had. (I don't crank it up that much!) It sounds great and is a perfect touch with my new Samsung 55" LCD.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent choice

Pros: Clean looking, great sound, crystal clear voices on center channel.

Cons: You can't mount this flat on the wall under or behind your screen...since they don't make speakers that sound this good paper thin. ha!

Other Thoughts: For my first home theater system, I got Yamaha for FL FC FR speakers. I picked up a pair of Polk floors for the RL and RR surround. All is great!

1 out of 5 eggsDistortion

Pros: Looks nice and very compact

Cons: I agree with morgan. Distortion at higher levels. I am running a Yamaha HTR-6160 with 90-110 watts per channel and at moderate volumes, this speaker tends to distort terribly. I believe it may be due to the low sensitivity rating "86 db" at 1 meter. I am going to sell it buy something else.

Other Thoughts: Don't bother.

1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed

Pros: Small and seems well constructed.

Cons: Sounds terrible. Sound also does not blend well with my other speakers. Adding this speaker to my system actually makes it sound worse than just down mixing the center channel to the left and right speakers. My main speakers are Infinity RS3 bookshelf speakers which were in roughly the same price range as this speaker.

Non-refundable. I didn't read the fine print when I bought this on sale and just assumed that I would be able to return it if it didn't work out. So now I have an expensive door stop.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a larger speaker which I no longer have space for. I recently replaced my ten year old trinitron with a shiny new Samsung LN46a650 and a wife approved entertainment center which does not have space for a center channel speaker. So I need a center channel speaker which I can place in front of the new TV without blocking the screen. On paper this speaker seems perfect. All of the reviews here and at other sites rave about the quality of the sound this little speaker pumps out. Unfortunately it doesn't deliver. Perhaps I had unrealistic expectations.

I think I'm going to build a stand so I can put my old center channel speaker above the new TV.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Speaker

Pros: Nice range. Very Clear Speaker. This IMHO is probably the best speaker you can buy in this price range. The size fits below my mounted Samsung LN46A650 perfectly. It is very thin and compliments my mantle very well.

Cons: The sensitivity is pretty low which is what explains the earlier review complains about not having enough power. But for under 150 dollars I can not give it a below 5 star rating.

Other Thoughts: Please keep in mind that a target sensitivity rating should be 90db or higher. The lower the sensitivity rating, the more power it takes your amp to drive the speakers. Range doesn't matter as much unless you are looking for bass. However ... it's a center channel speaker and what you need is treble and since the human ear can't hear above 22khz at the highest the only range you should be paying attention to is the lowest range. If you are looking for a nice center channel that won't break your pocket book. This is for you!

5 out of 5 eggsThis speaker is awesome!

Pros: Hi's and low's extremely clear as with all Yamaha speakers, the frequency response is perfect for the center channel. This speaker rivals ones that cost $1000.

Cons: Wish the color of the grill was darker but that's about it.

Other Thoughts: I have an RX-V1800 pushing 130w/ch into my 7.1 set up. I was using a Polk Audio center speaker that my son put a tou thru and am very happy that happened. The Yammie creates voices and effects better then the Polk and cost a few hundred less. Yamaha Rules!

5 out of 5 eggsA Nice Addition

Pros: Crisp, clean sound. I wanted to improve the vocals for DVDs and this was accomplished with this speaker.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Sound from such small speakers

Pros: I needed a thin center channel for fitting into a pre-built unit, and the one I already had was 1/2 inch too large. Having used Yamaha audio equipment before, I wanted to stick with the quality products. The speaker gives out extremely crisp voice and other sounds, far exceeding the older Kenwood I had been using prior. Granted, due to the same size constraints, it is being powered by a lower-end JVC receiver, but even still, the quality is very high.

Cons: Yamaha doesn't make a receiver that fits in the same area?

Other Thoughts: Having Infinity Gold speakers on another system, I can say this small Yamaha gives sound clarity on par with speakers twice its price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat sound, without breaking the bank

Pros: I have what I would consider a nice LG surround system, and this was my first and probably only upgrade. After this upgrade, I can see why they say the center channel is most important. What a difference. Great sound, even some nice lows. What a difference in listening to dialogue in movies, and surround sound just went up a notch. The speaker grill is magnatized.

Cons: I cant think of any, had great sound, even when cranked up.

Other Thoughts: Since I wasnt going to spend $1000 buying individual speakers, I added this to my LG home theater in a box system I purchased 3 months ago. This was a great buy. Most center channels run well into the $200's. This was worth every bit of the nice new egg price.

4 out of 5 eggsgood center channel

Pros: This is a great center channel for the money. The clarity of the speach in films is vastly better than I had before with no center channel. There is very little disortion at high volume which is always something that annoys me

Cons: I wish that the speaker could be a bit more powerful. I am powering it with a Denon AVR-1601, which gives it plenty of power but it still lacks a bit. Doesn't sound bad, and sound is good for such a small unit but could still be a bit more dynamic.
