1 out of 5 eggsNeeds another $70 adapter for wifi to work

Pros: The Blu-ray itself works. The quality is okay. But it could be my TV. Haven't tried connecting it to my main TV. Bought it for the price to connect to the 720p TV in the guest bedroom.

Cons: The box says wifi ready. Wouldn't work at all. So read the manual to find that the wifi only works if you buy another proprietary $70 Toshiba USB adapter. Subtracted 2 stars for false advertising.

4 out of 5 eggsnot bad for the price

Pros: i got it all set up and plays all blueray and all blueray burns, i was hoping to get the streaming to work ( was not fortunate) it needs a isolated lan line . but i found out that the front usb plays all my mp4s,avis,and vobs. so who needs streaming since i have a tivo with a lan line that does all that, very happy.

Cons: could not get it to read my router, no matter what i did ( i did a test and it saw internet connection thru a isolated lan line only , this product looses 1 rating for wireless connectivity problems, you get what you pay for .watch out if you want the wireless to work without purchasing a wireless adapter to make it work, i checked it is 60.00.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks mostly

Pros: Works fine on my Sony Bravia. Netflix streaming is handy.

Cons: Got a new Sceptre HDTV and discovered that this blu-ray player will not display any image on it. Discovered a few others with the same issue on different television brands.

Other Thoughts: Flip of a coin on whether it will work for your TV or not.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy!

Pros: Price

Cons: Doesn't play blue-ray, DVDs play with subtitles, doesn't respond to remote control, doesn't respond to hard wired buttons, I've tried unplugging the unit to reset with no change, returned the unit for replacement and the replacement jammed as soon as I turned on the power.

Other Thoughts: Look elsewhere for a WiFi ready blu-ray/DVD player.

1 out of 5 eggsRepeated defective units

Pros: Box is easy to repack for return.

Cons: This is the unit I received from an RMA of the first defective unit. The replacement suffers from the same defective WiFi issue. None of the three methods for connecting yielded any results. The scan ability immediately displays a "Network is FAILED" message.

I'm disappointed in the craftsmanship from a name brand device. If functioning WiFi is not a concern for you, then this might be an appropriate purchase.

I had selected this product mostly for the advertised ability to stream content from internet sources (Netflix, Hulu, etc) and with repeated defective units, I would recommend against purchasing this player.

Other Thoughts: I will have spent half the cost of my original purchase in postage for the shipping of defective units. I expected higher quality from Toshiba.

1 out of 5 eggsWiFi was DOA

Pros: Interface seemed very intuitive and user friendly. Many features I was looking for in regards to streaming content.

Cons: Worked on wireless connection for several hours. Would immediately get "Network is FAILED." message when attempting to scan for my home network. Attempted every other method of connecting wirelessly (manual and PIN) and was unable to get any signal at all. Opened up an RMA and I'm responsible to ship it back at my cost.

Other Thoughts: Perhaps I have just had bad luck with defective products lately, but it seems that online retailers are sending out junk products and expecting the consumer to jump through an increasing amount of hoops to get what they paid for.
