Had to plug/unplug flash and at the same time switch USB/DVD modes. Other Thoughts: Don't be misled by "multiformat" in the title. I have a 58" plasma and the resolution of this player is far better than I expected. Don't see any reason to go to bluray. The player displays more info about the disk than I want to know. But that was to good to be true. But, you can copy Music. Other Thoughts: It plays DVDs that my old DVD player could never play it also has fine option does an excellent job. Pioneer will not waranty it because Newegg is not an "Authorized" Dealer. This is a direct quote from Pioneer's warranty/return department. Other Thoughts: Be warned! If you buy Pioneer they will not honor the manufacturer warranty! A+ to Newegg customer service though, they are dealing with Pioneer for me. Pros: Had to purchase a software converter - "WM Converter" to be exact; converted my wmv video files to DivX and now I'm able to watch them using my 1TB external drive; because of the extra work I give only 3 eggs., would have gotten 5 eggs if it had hit the ground running when i took it out of the box; Dans review is spot on too. As a heads up here's what to know - "will play divx, avi & wmv............. files not containing DivX video signals cannot be played even if they have the extension avi" Cons: none other than what u can find above (if you want to view it like that) 1 out of 2 people found this review helpful.
