4 out of 5 eggsProduces an audible hum

Pros: Sound quality is rather decent. The bass response it rather crisp. (I generally listen to music) . It is connected to a Yamaha receiver.
cabinets built quality seems nice. the feet provide plenty of vibration absorption.

Cons: Main issue is that it produces an audible hum even when in standby.
It is not coming from the speaker , so it is not a ground fault.

2 out of 5 eggsNice while it lasts

Pros: This speaker sounded very nice while it worked. I do not listen to loud volumes, so I never had a problem with distortion or chuffing or blowing the speaker out or it getting hot. I really enjoyed the sound till it died.

Cons: After about 18 months of using it, it just stopped working. Well, I can just barely hear it if I put my ear up to it. The volume and crossover knobs still affect the output - it's just that there is no more volume than what you'd get out of a headphone speaker.

Other Thoughts: Given that there are other reviewers here stating their speaker only lasted about a year an a half too, it seems this is a problem others may expect to encounter as time goes on. I would not recommend this speaker unless you only need to use it till the warranty runs out. Until then, you will likely enjoy it. Consider it to be disposable after that.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic sound on a budget

Pros: Got this for $50 after MIR. Outstanding performance for the price. Matches the Andrew Jones towers and center channel very well.

Cons: Suffers from "chuffing" and isn't quite as musical as originally anticipated.

5 out of 5 eggsValue is key

Pros: Bought it at yard sale price (from Newegg of course)

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I bought this during one of Newegg's many sales for my brother. He was in need of a sub, and I've been buying Pioneer equipment my entire adult life. After hooking it up and setting the recommended crossover, I thought the unit might be bad, as I could get no sound out of it for 30 minutes, then I realized I hadn't changed his Pioneer receiver front speakers to 'small', which kicked the sub in. He was extremely happy with the sounds it produced. He turned on his TV and was smiling at how much more immersive the sound was for that too.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat little sub

Pros: I have this little sub connected to a 40" vizio sound bar - very satisfied with the sound quality. Auto power off feature. for an 8" sub, this hits pretty hard.

Cons: No cons to report

Other Thoughts: The bass output for this little sub is good. I live in a small appt building, the upstairs neighbor's kids run around all day, when i've had enough, i just crank the bass and turn up the beats!

5 out of 5 eggsPioneer SW-8-K 100W Powered Subwoofer Single

Pros: I've just brought this 8'' down fire subwoofer to aid my two pioneer twin towers. It made a big difference in my surround sound. If you're looking for that deep rich bass this is all you'll need. Unless you have a huge area. You may need two one in front and in the rear of that area. For the price you can't beat that. This subwoofer is the boooomb! So far, so good.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: None

5 out of 5 eggsWoW

Pros: Ordered this sub on Saturday, received it Tuesday, very fast shipping, impressive for 1.99.
The subwoofer completes my HT system very nicely, for what I paid, 79.99, I feel I got more than I paid for.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I have a 7.1 system, wish it was 7.2 so I could add another one of these!

2 out of 5 eggsWorked good four about 15 months

Pros: I purched this sub on Janury 3 2013 .The sub worket fine Good sound.I noticed that the stand by seting was powering down when the sub was geting a good signile on Aprile 16 2014. Now I have to turn sub on and off manauley. I have to move the sub to get to the togle switch to turn the sub on and when im done yousing it. I have to move it to turn it back off. The sub is in a corner back agenst the wall with tv stand infront of it. This is not conventent to move around. If I do not cut it off manuley i fear it will burn out.I hope this is not the begning of the end. I am on a fixed income and can not afourd to replace the sub every few months.

Cons: The wornaty ran out in Janury 2014 now the sub is not powering on . I have to turn on and off by hand.

Other Thoughts: Good sub grate sound. .Great price Fills the room with great sound.I belive the sencore has stoped sencing signile.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Price was good and has been durable so far. Looks pleasing to the eye too.

Cons: The connection sucks. Red and white RCA inputs means you have to get a splitter. Also has a background hum even when the TV is on but not talking.

Other Thoughts: The sound of this sub is deafening. The deep is very deep and I never turn the volume beyond the half way mark. It almost mimics a movie theater experience.
