4 out of 5 eggsGreat speakers

Pros: These were not $60 cheaper on Newegg. I got the pair for $70 at that place that sometimes buys best 2 months ago. They are disco, so if you see a deal on them grab them!
Unbelievable value! Solid build and sounds great. Like them more than my Polk M60's.
Made a 7.1 setup with these in front, 4x the pioneer bs21, and the pioneer sw8. . .all for under $240!!!
Thanks Newegg for selling the sw8 for $69 and at my doorstep in three days!!!

Cons: not available anymore

5 out of 5 eggsWow, Awesome!!!

Pros: We heard this at the place where your suposed to get the best buys...NOT. Newegg had them $60.00 cheaper...Thank NewEgg you rock!!! We heard then with polk, kenwood, klipsh and every similur speaker they could get to work that day. These had a full rich sound and plenty of bass. I like the fact the bases were not pre installed. That way we could decide if we wanted them attached or not. We paired the with a pioneer head unit and the pioneer 8 inch sub. It sounds awesome in my sons room. He is very pleased. He already wants a 2nd set for this years bday... :) They are well built, feels very solid, grills do not come off with is a good thing with little ones always taking off covers and poking the big button in the middle of a woofer...bad for a woofer by the way. Trust us or go hear them for yourself. Even the store guy was surprised they sounded as good as they did

Cons: none really, except 2 sets sound way better than 1 :)

2 out of 5 eggslacks bass

Pros: quality sound at low volumes
sturdy build

Cons: weak bass

Other Thoughts: I am using these speakers with a Yamaha receiver. I have no subwoofer or any other speakers connected to the receiver.

I was hoping that these Pioneer speakers would provide adequate bass by themselves. They don't. I've tried different settings on the receiver, but the speakers still emit weak percussion.

Most of the time, it's not a problem because my wife and I listen at low volumes. However, it would be nice to have some bass while cranking music or watching Blu-ray. Guess I'll buy a subwoofer after all.

5 out of 5 eggsBest money spent in a while!

Pros: Amazing sound, amazing price. Had to tone down my 100W 10" powered subwoofer because these put out a crisper low end than it does! Absolutely fills my 14x18 room with sound, separation is very good. Even gave a pretty good "surround" feel when my receiver is on stereo mode.

Cons: Pretty short at 30" to be floor speakers. I had pedestals for my smaller speakers b4 buying these and just used them. Any shorter and I would've taken off an egg. Still need a good center-channel speaker to pickup good dialogue for theatre listening.

Other Thoughts: They definately do have a "break-in" period. don't hook 'em up and blast them no matter how tempting it is! listen casually and play around with location and equalization for about a week and you will notice even a better sound than first taking them out of the box.

5 out of 5 eggsABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL

Pros: These speakers bring out the best sound in every detail. I managed to get these at an unbelievable price with free shipping from Newegg. I have these connected to my Yamaha receiver I also ordered from Newegg and I'm on a natural "High" with music that sounds so natural. Thanks Newegg for a great price and early Christmas present for myself.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've had different premium sound configurations in my lifetime and this beats them all, hands down!

5 out of 5 eggsGood alone, great w/ subwoofer

Pros: Compact form, nicely punchy by themselves, really excellent w/ subwoofer, solid grill nice w/ young kids, unbeatable quality to price ratio

Cons: Not very attractive

Other Thoughts: We purchased two pairs of these to provide music to two spaces in our house, using a basic stereo receiver with A/B lines and a subwoofer out. In the main listening room we also added an Energy 10-inch subwoofer. After some breaking-in, we could compare the two setups.

Without the sub, the speakers are nicely punchy down to the upper bass range and definitely a step up from most low-budget main speakers. But with the sub, and after some experimenting with the sub's crossover and the bass/treble on the receiver, the system became really excellent for music, meaning smooth and transparent up to a decent volume level.

Given the pricing available on these, I think they are extremely hard to beat if you are trying to set up a music system, or mixed home theater and music system, on a tight budget. And I don't think you will regret combining them with a decent subwoofer which alone costs somewhat more than a pair of these, as opposed to spending an equivalent toal amount on more expensive mains alone, or more expensive mains and a cheaper sub.

2 out of 5 eggscheap but is that what you want?

Pros: Inexpensive. Better then most soundbars.

Cons: Limited output. These do not handle high volume well at all. They sound ok at low volumes though. The tonal qualities of these speakers don't hold a candle to any of Polk's floor standers. I use them as a comparison as they are usually close to this price point.

Other Thoughts: When you are committing to buy floor standing speakers, isn't sound quality and possible visual appearance your highest priorities? Price is always a consideration but within reason. You could get much more value, in terms of sound quality, from a better set of speakers for not too much more cost. My suggestion is to save up a little longer for a higher quality set of speakers. You will be happier in the end.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Value. This is the only word I can think of when describing them. It would be difficult for anyone to find speakers that sound better for under $200. Excellent for ALL kinds of music reproduction, esp. vocals and instrumentals. Also, the fixed metal covers on the front are a real bonus if you have small children.

Cons: Money was spent where it matters....cabinet design, soft dome tweeter, 3 separate drivers. Construction standard on-par with low-end IKEA furniture, meaning generous use of card-board and press-paper board. Remarkable that speakers sound this good despite cost compromises.

Other Thoughts: Ordered in the evening, and delivered to front door the next day. Package and speakers were in perfect condition.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: The speakers sound amazing. I'm using 12GA wire with them and they stomp hands down on my TV speakers. They are capable of getting very loud and I haven't maxed them out because I can sing full voice with these not maxed and not be able to hear myself. I live in an apartment so I have no need for a subwoofer because they provide ample bass. Enough bass to feel it where I sit and hear it throughout the apartment.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Very very impressive speakers. I underrated them because of their price but they proved me wrong!
