4 out of 5 eggsGood Stuff

Pros: Clear, nice power, gets the job done without question.

Cons: None really

Other Thoughts: Great speaker for the price. Would recommend for those with smaller areas for their sound system. Great clarity, nice range, decent power.
Ideal budget system speaker. No joke

5 out of 5 eggsDefinitely big

Pros: Sounds great, looks great, does not distort, has dedicated tweeters and mids.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This is big. Look at size specs before buying if space is a problem for you. It cuts the picture if your TV is on its stand and you place this in front of the TV.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Sounding but big box

Pros: excellent sound in price range

Cons: size might a problem in small space

Other Thoughts: The 5.1 set is a 2011 best sound award (SP-PK21BS)
You may buy 5.1 set-up by buying separate speakers
((manufacturer date is April 2012))
The size is no problem for me

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing is great.

Pros: Monsterous sound for a small price tag. Current price is great, even better when it goes on sale!

Moves a lot of air for a center channel, whilst still staying clean sounding.

Cons: None to speak of. Some might not like the full time wire mesh grills. its a speaker, you listen to it...not stare at it.

Other Thoughts: Buy it, hell of a deal.

Look at it this way, if you dont like it....put it in the bedroom for those extra loud Barry White music sessions.

5 out of 5 eggsvery nice center

Pros: clear and clean sound, cover the whole vocal range evenly. I can now understand movie dialogs without subtitles (being a NNS).

Cons: large size, had to remove the slim drawer from my TV stand to make room for it. I measured before purchasing so it's just an acceptable trade-off.

Other Thoughts: If you ever wonder about its unusual shape and size, it's meant to be used together with the FS51, or BS41 (they all have the same shape and size, just different in height/length), but that guarantees timbre match. You can even use two of these vertically for front LR. As similar to FS51 and BS41, the quality is superb for the incredible price. The sound is warm, the high is sweet, not too bright.

I don't use this as much as the FS51 for I mostly listen to 2Ch music, but watching movies is much more enjoyable as the voices are now much clearer at music-quality (comparing to the tiny center in my old Sony HT-DDW790 system)

5 out of 5 eggswhy is his head so big. whhhyyyyyy

Pros: I needed a stronger center speaker that wouldn’t get drown out by my newer floor standing L and R speakers. I got what I asked for. Not without it’s flaws though, but at this price I can’t be too mad

Good driver size. Mostly clear audio. I like the rubber feet it comes with. The speaker cradles in them, and the curved shape of the speaker combined with the curved feet allow you to angle the speaker up and down slightly depending on speaker placement. Nice metal wire connectors on the back (they aren’t plastic caps).

Cons: Ok the Audio. I’ve heard better center speakers. I wasn’t looking to break the bank, so I can’t expect perfection, but this is still an odd design for a center.

Center speakers are for voice and higher ranged pitches. So usually they have a solid tweeter coupled with a housing more designed to enhance the tweeter’s affect. The tweeter is then flanked by two woofers to help deliver deeper impacts. This speaker has that usual driver layout, but it has a huge housing. It’s bigger than a lot of other higher end center speakers. And not just overall size, but the housing is also rounded back to one full shape, it doesn’t taper off much in the back. This design is better for deeper ranges, but it doesn’t drive the tweeter’s higher pitches forward quite as much. Which is what center speakers are supposed to do. Drive voice forward.

Now it’s not That bad. This is still a nice sounding piece. And it’s still an upgrade from what I had. It has a lot of power, especially considering that I only paid $50, so I feel I have still gotten my moneys worth. This speaker isn’t perfect, but for what I paid, I would feel guilty docking an egg.

Other Thoughts: Still a good purchase at this price range. But if you can get something else for not much more money it would be worth looking into. The $50 I paid was a steal. But if I had to pay the $100 MSRP for it, I know that for not much more there are nicer Polk centers available.

5 out of 5 eggsUnbeatable Value

Pros: Amazing sound quality: clear, natural, very musical

Cons: Very large speaker, so hard to place, but should be expected of a speaker of this quality (as the saying goes, "there's no replacement for displacement";)

Other Thoughts: This speaker, paired up the matching FS51 speakers make an unbeatable value in home theater. It sounds amazing. As I said in my review of the FS51s, Pioneer have put a great deal of thought and care into this line of speakers, and it shows (or rather, it sounds:P). I have never had speakers that sounded this clear, natural, and musical. Everything sounds good on them.

For less than the price of most HTiB systems, you can get a whole set of these Pioneers, which blow the HTiBs away. If Pioneer continues to offer up this kind of value proposition, they have earned a lifetime customer in me.
