This review is from: Pioneer SC-1323-K 7.2-Channel 4K AV Receiver
Pros: D3 amplification means less heat (an AVR killer). Runs incredibly cool, saving surrounding electronics, too. Advanced Auto MCACC is very accurate and only hardcore audiophiles will feel compelled to make adjustments. Video processing is excellent. vTuner and Pandora are nice, though with so many add-ons available now (Roku, smart Blurays, etc.) not a huge deal--but still a nice feature. Always stumbling on something new every day (which is also a con--see below). A true workhorse for those not wanting the cost of separates. Pair with efficient speakers, and never look back. Online ap with Android or Apple is a MUST! And it's not bad, and definitely makes things easier.
Cons: One of these days Pioneer will bring their GUI interface into the 21st century. Unbelievably archaic text based system. If it weren't for the app, I'd probably have lost patience. It's not that one can't find features and how to switch things around via the remote, it's just a pain in the ***. I stumble on new features every day because they make them so d*** hard to find! If you're a relative newbie to a high end AVR (this is my first true high-end AVR) be prepared to do some experimenting with features, settings, etc. It's not very intuitive. Sure... you can set it, do the auto MCACC and probably be very happy. But where's the fun in that? Half the fun of an AVR is what it can do for you in terms of different options--different DSPs, for example. The app makes it much easier, but again, this is something that should be easier without the app. The remote is ridiculous, too. Again, if you want to get the most out of it, be prepared to experiment, read the user manual many times over (because you'll probably miss something the first few times), and see what you like.
