Onkyo proves that entry-level doesn't equal bottom of the barrel with the TX-SR576. This unit is easy to set up thanks to the Audyssey 2EQ auto room calibration feature. This automatically calibrates the output based on listening position and speaker placement. The DynamicEQ feature adjusts the settings on the fly as the volume changes so vocals and dialogue are always crisp and clear.
Onkyo's CinemaFILTER technology adjusts the tonal balance of the soundtrack to take room size into account. This way the soundtrack will sound like it is supposed to and not like it’s been forced into a room two sizes too small. When coupled with the Wide Range Amplifier Technology you get a true to life sound free of amplifier noise.
Other convenience features have also been added. Powered Zone 2 lets you send a stereo signal from a CD player or the radio to a set of speakers in another room while still having 5 channel surround sound in the theater room. The receiver is CEC compliant so you can control all of your other HDMI devices through the convenient RIHD interface.
This review is from: ONKYO TX-SR576 7.1-Channel Black Home Theater Receiver
Pros: All decoders built in.
Cons: Size. They make these things too large. Color. Your living area looking like it has mini-tanks all over is out. AM/FM tuner. No one uses these.... radio is dead. Save space and size by eliminating them. Inputs - not enough for TV, DVD, DVR optical.
