- Pros: None
- Cons: Owned for 3 days only and was very disappointed with it, not even for the low price, had to return it.
HP-20U and others in this line
- Pros: Jack, not a single pro to be had.
- Cons: One year and nine months of owning the units and I've had nothing but pain and displeasing bouts with the Sharp BD player.
Customer Service for those of us in "Sharps Aquos Advantage Club" was fast about offering a paid air-bill to I could ship this back to them when I was hit by the " Incompatible Disk" Errors with every BD movie and DVD I played even Audio CD. changed out the drive and not much changed, some movies would play but others would lock up or crash or simply just not even load. once repaired status became "refurbished" and thus lost all hopes of getting anything repaired even know at the time I had another six months on my service plan,
Note to any SHARP reps reading: don't be offering to help, cause as of right now, the device is sitting in a pile of screws and cables as I had to rip the thing apart to recover my Snow White Blu-ray which is now chipped thanks to the assembly snagging it and not letting it go, tray would open but disk stayed stuck in side.
- Other Thoughts: Useless even for parts.
BD-RE Drive is recognized by Windows 7 even installs drives for it, (recognized as the SHARP BD-HR2 PATA device) tray will eject via right click but once disk is in, won't read and computer crashes.
so once more device is not even worth the parts it's made of.
This player is a piece of trash
- Pros: It's a cheap player
- Cons: It won't play Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs or half the new Blu-Ray on the market. Sharp says they need to make a firmware upgrade and has been extreemely slow to do so.
- Other Thoughts: Find something else in the same price range. Sharp has hands down some of the best displays on the market and has had so for some time. On the player side, it looks that all of their Blu-Ray players are lemmons...
