Question 1

I have a MEMOREX color TV MT1132A/MT1192A which I have had for about 10+ years as a 2nd TV in my bedroom.

I recently discontinued Cable TV and now have no programming.

Can you tell me if this RCA antenna will work with this set to allow me to receive basic programming?

No, it will not work. Stations now broadcast digital signals and you have an analog TV. The antenna can receive digital signals but your TV has an analog tuner. You would need a digital to analog converter along with the antenna.

will this antenna provide a signal in a basement?

After much experimenting with this antenna (Assume the Fox position), I find it works much better when raised away from the ground. Like at least ceiling height. Even then, we need to have at least two orientations to pick up all our local stations.

Of course, all this depends on your local geometry and topography with respect to the broadcast antennas. But I feel pretty confident in stating that a high elevation is always a plus. Basement use? I'd be skeptical.

That said, this antenna has outperformed other antennas I've tried. Most likely this is due to the fact that it has an on-board preamplifier.

How many DB?

Sorry,don't know what "DB" is referring to....  But the antenna works great for receiving all my local stations including hi def.

We have 2 televisions, will only one flat antenna be needed?

Sorry but two are needed. Also unless you have a good strong signal they are not a great aid.

We have limited space and no cable outlet where we would like use this with a small tv.  The location is in a kitchen and not close to a window.  Will it work?

Your best bet is going to be near a window to pick up most signals. You can get lucky depending on how far the signal is away. However, recently I've replaced my RCA with this one: http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16882576004 ...and now Im getting a few more channels - for $6 its worth a shot - still, I know people that have trouble with any brand if their trying to get signal say, in the basement.

Question 6

What is the general range for this antenna? 25-mile. 30-mile, 40-mile, 50-mile, or greater than 50-mile?

In my personal setup, wall mount indoor, facing broadcast direction, .. small city about 12 -20 miles from closest antanae, I can only receive 1-2 channels with optimal conditions. Perhaps with different mounting I might get more, but as is its about 15 miles.

Have we established whether a digital converter box is needed with this antenna for an analog tv?

I believe you do need the digital converter box with this antenna if you want to receive digital channel.  99% of all TV stations today are on digital transmission mode; analog tv is no longer used.  However, this antenna, sucks; it is not the greatest and I have seen others more useful on receiving local channels.  I bought it for the name: RCA, but it is no better than rabbit ear ones, really. So, Save you money and headache that comes with time trying to tune a TV set with this antenna.

How does this work?  Can I get rid of Comcast and still get channels with this product?

That is entirely dependent upon your circumstances and desires. I get about six bands, including the major networks, with a total of about 16 different broadcast channels. The majority of the transmitters I get are about 12 miles NNW in Tallahassee and about 25 miles NNE in Thomasville, GA. My antenna is about 11 feet above ground level. It is attached to an indoor wall and pointed due west, a sub-optimal direction. When the weather is good, I get signals clearly from transmitters in both cities. When heavy clouds and high humidity are present, I may have good reception from one city, both cities, or (on rare occasions) neither city, depending on the weather. I supplement the broadcast TV I get through this antenna with the main subscription TV streaming and DVD service and with a collection of DVD's I have bought new or used for about $5 each. I am satisfied with what I get with this antenna because it provides what I need in broadcast, and I can supplement it with Internet sources and DVD's. Someday I might add something one of the Internet TV delivery services if the price is right, but my Internet connection currently does not have the bandwidth to support such traffic. If you are farther away from the transmitters, have worse weather, depend more on one TV source, have a lower antenna height, or some other greater challenge, this antenna might not be as good for you. On the other hand, if you are closer; have more stations; have your stations in  spread more around the compass so weather is less likely to be disruptive; have a higher antenna height; have good Internet bandwidth for a complementary source if needed; or have less dramatic weather than the Florida panhandle, it may meet your needs. WITH THIS ANTENNA, CAN I WATCH ONLY CERTAIN TV CHANNELS, AND HOW WILL I KNOW WHICH ONES?

Try going to the FCC map site.  I have found it to be prety accurate.  You may get more than is indicated because of sub-channels.

Which indoor RCA HDTV antenna is the newest 1450B or 1650F?

Sorry, I'm not sure, but I would guess the higher number.  The one I have is the 1450 and it works great.  Just plug it into your digital TV and tune in all the digital channels in your market, free of additional charge.
