3 out of 5 eggsdepends where you are

Pros: It works sometimes, when the local FM station doesn't walk all over the other stations.

Cons: The biggest problem is that it does not pick up any stations with better clarity. my father in law has the same antenna, and living on a hill in town, and it does a much better job than where i am in the suburbs on a hill.

Other Thoughts: as others have reviewed, it does tend amplify the noise more so than boost signal. It only seems to do better when it is placed near a window with a clear line of sight to get radio signals.

1 out of 5 eggsWorse than a $1 wire antenna

Pros: None.

Cons: Doesn't work well.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to improve the reception of a receiver that at the time had a cheap wire antenna that came with the unit. This antenna *decreased* the reception. Shortly thereafter, the gain knob broke. Junk.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waist your money on this.

Pros: None.

Cons: I receive better AM/FM reception with the OEM T-antenna. I would have returned it but it was a gift.

4 out of 5 eggsTower is fine

Pros: I've bought two of these -- one for a farmhouse in upstate NY, and one for a house in Philadelphia. In both cases it worked well. Made a huge difference in the farmhouse, boosting weak signals -- went from three available stations to a full spectrum.

Cons: Not as effective in the city, cutting through blocked signals from tall buildings, but still helped with available signals.

Other Thoughts: Sorry if this is in here twice -- the comment form is a little ploddy.

4 out of 5 eggsTERK Tower

Pros: I've bought two of these -- one for a farmhouse in upstate NY, and one for a house in Philadelphia where there is a lot of signal blockage. In both cases this thing made a huge difference. More obvious in the farmhouse -- boosted weak signals tremendously.

Cons: Not as effective at cutting through city building interference, but still made a noticeable difference.

1 out of 5 eggsWorse than wire

Pros: It works, somewhat. At least there's that.

Cons: Like the others, I found this antenna worse than the original supplied wire. Also, the gain pot broke a couple of months later. I ended up giving it away.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Worth It

Pros: Looks appealing.

Cons: Don't let its looks fool you. Worse signal reception than the original wire antenna that came with my receiver. The amplifier feature on this antenna made the signal worse, it amplified the noise. You get better reception unplugging the power.

Other Thoughts: Wasted money on this. I ended up throwing it away, its not worth returning since its pretty cheap. I ended up getting FM dipole wired antenna for 5 bucks and it works 10 times better.

2 out of 5 eggsTried and put away.

Pros: Looks decent.

Cons: Worse than a simple copper wire for FM reception. Really sensitive to interference from other objects in your house.

AM reception nothing to write home about.

Other Thoughts: Was hoping this antenna could boost my AM/FM reception, but the copper wire and AM loop antenna that came with the home theater I have is better.
