2 out of 5 eggsfeels very cheap, satisfactory performance

Pros: it works slightly better than the built-in antenna on my klh receiver.

Cons: it is very cheaply made. it feels flimsy in your hands, like thin poor quality plastic. typical bottom-dollar made in china construction. the wire stand is also flimsy and doesn't support it well. am reception is poor. and why are there two sets of wires coming out of it? omit the 300 ohm ladderline, nobody uses that. stereos like mine that have 300 ohm ladder line connections, you simply use a small 75-300 ohm balun. it's silly to include two separate hard-wired connections, and it clutters up your stereo wiring and even prevents the antenna from standing up properly on its flimsy bent wire stand.

Other Thoughts: I think terk must have been bought out by another company, because the older terk antenna products are nice. i have an older terk fm antenna that is much more nicely constructed, with a solid plastic stand, and solid feel build quality. too bad they seem to have gone down-hill like so many other products these days.

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK

Pros: its nice looking

Cons: Dosent work at all I get better reception with a single wire FM antenna

Other Thoughts: When trying to return it I am told on RMA screen that it is un returnable
It's obvious by packaging that someone already returned it once
The last $25 I will ever spend at NewEgg

4 out of 5 eggsGood Antenna

Pros: Performs well for both AM and FM. For $20 it is completely worth it. I'm in a basement and I get more stations than I did previously with my stock "T" and "loop" antennas.

Cons: Not many at the price point, I guess I would say don't buy it expecting to receive every AM station out there. This is not a DXing antenna, just for standard operation.

2 out of 5 eggsCheap Product-

Pros: Cheap, improvement over wire in certain areas-

Cons: Did not do the job in a poor signal area, needed an amplified antenna to receive clear FM Signals. I expected too much for too little-

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Works well, great reception
No static or white noise
Very long cord to allow for placement far from stereo
Has stand to stand itself up if not hung

Cons: Can sometimes be picky about location

Other Thoughts: I think this receiver is perfect for what I use it for (garage stereo). A lot of people rip on FM receivers and say that they suck but it's hard to get a strong FM signal even inside my garage sometimes, you just have to find the right spot with a strong signal and you'll be fine, and the nice thing about this antenna is that it has a nice long cord to allow me to move it all over the place to find the right spot for the right signal strength. I'm very glad I bought this antenna.

2 out of 5 eggsWeak performer

Pros: Small size and thin profile.

Cons: This antenna is disappointing. Its small size, which is what drew me to it in the first place, is actually the source of its greatest weakness, namely, its extreme suceptibility to FM nulls (dead spots in the room). The instruction sheet does mention that one should move it around to find a sweet spot, but does not address the fact that its location can be so critical. I live in an urban, high-signal area but the antenna is barely adequate in even its best locations. What's frustrating is that a sweet spot for one station does not necessarily work for another. So, I often have to relocate the antenna when changing stations. I found that a cheap rabbit ear antenna is more sensitive to weak signals, and isn't so prone to nulls. The AM antenna works properly only if I leave its "ground" wire disconnected. A simple 5-6-ft-long wire actually works better.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great FM reception, compact size, good look.

Cons: Not very good AM reception, doesn't work very well if you are in a brick building.

Other Thoughts: If you are not planning on using it in a brick building and you don't mind so-so AM reception then this is good (I only listen to FM so it works perfectly for me).

3 out of 5 eggsDidn't work as well for me

Pros: its a good looking antenna, and not too big. I can hide it behind the TV. I just wish it performed better for me.

Cons: Didn't seem to be any better than the thin wire antenna that I was using before. It could also have something to do with my location though. My building is made mostly of concrete which may affect RF transmissions.

3 out of 5 eggsGood passive FM, but poor AM antenna

Pros: The FM antenna improved reception significantly over the monopole antenna that came with my radio.

Cons: The AM antenna doesn't receive nearly as well as several loops of wire wrapped around a plastic frame that the manufacturer provided with my radio.

Other Thoughts: I wanted an antenna that didn't require power for my office. This product succeeds as a low-price FM antenna, but the AM reception is only slightly better than no antenna at all. I'll continue to use a separate antenna for AM.
