Sometimes an outdoor antenna isn't practical, or aesthetically pleasing. That's where Terk's HDTVa come in. It is a compact but powerful indoor HDTV antenna that will pick up all available VHF and UHF broadcasts from channels 2-69.
The high gain amplifier increases the reception range and signal quality. The UHF element is highly directional for minimal signal interference. The rabbit ear antennae can be tucked away when not in use.
Pros: I use this antenna in my garage workshop where I don't have cable and it is amazing. I tried other indoor antennas about a year ago and none ever worked, and I wasn't too keen on the idea of climbing the roof, so I gave up on them.. until this guy. I'm using a Mac PowerBook G4 17" and an ElGato Hybrid tuner (which I also bought here at Newegg) and installation was a breeze. I never thought I'd get more than 1 or 2 snowy channels like the last time I tried an indoor antenna, but afterI assembled it in about 1 minute, plugged it in, did a channel scan, I get about 40 HDTV over-the-air free channels, all crystal clear and razor sharp! This is especially amazing since I live deep in a valley (Simi Valley, CA) surrounded by some pretty high mountains and I get all of the L.A. channels, some Santa Barbara channels and some I can't figure out why I get them or where they're from (one is an all-news channel and one is an MTV channel.) I would give this 6 stars if i could.
Cons: The antenna is so light, the cable coming off the bottom can tip it over if you accidentally move it or yank the cable a little. It doesn't stay in the groove very well, but I just try not to disturb it and that works okay. It would be nice if the power pack had an indicator light. It only has a very small on/off switch that's hard for me to see. VERY SLIGHT direction changes makes a huge difference. I have about 1" of play between getting all 40 channels crystal clear and getting only about 8 channels, very choppy and unwatchable. You have to experiment and point it precisely to get the best reception, but that could be an element of living in a valley where reception is very poor anyway... or it used to be.
Other Thoughts: I can't laud this product enough, but one thing strikes me as odd; it doesn't matter wether I have the power turned off or on. The signal strength is the same. The instructions say to keep it plugged in even if you don't have the amplifier switched on, but after I tuned my channels, I switched the power switch on and off to see the difference and there was none. TERK makes a similar model w/o the amplifier for a few bux cheaper and it looks like I didn't need the amplifier, but I didn't want to take the chance. RUN, don't walk to buy this antenna from Newegg if you have had poor over-the-air reception in the past and don't want to be climbing on your roof. You won;t be disappointed.

Amazing Indoor Antenna

Pros: I had this antenna hooked up in minutes to a new HD television set. I bought it when we decided not to pay the satellite or cable company to wire the kitchen since we only watched local programming there anyway. I was very skeptical that an over the air HD antenna would work at all. When I had the TV program itself for off the air signals, the antenna, without the power on, found 33 digital channels, and 14 HD channels. The picture was perfect, the signals clear, and I am a skeptic no more.
Cons: I couldn't find any.

Pros: it works perfect in my attic, must be placed at high elevation, connect to the whole house, every room has HDTV now. Worth the $$. It picks up every free chanel available. Look nice. The signal strength is up to 95% on ABC, NBC, & CBS local chanel.
Cons: None

Pros: Great for Indoor HDTV really works as stated. Will really shine when I get it setup just right.
Cons: Lack of HD OTA station in Las Vegas Nevada. Also the Directional setting is good, but the Antennae stations are not centralized but at the Edge of the farthest part of town from me.
Other Thoughts: I really am happy with this, but not happy with the Lack of OTA Station availability here. I think COX Cable might have a lot to do with it.

Pros: I live in San Francisco which has an antenna about 4 miles and I have the benefit of being on an elevated part of the city. With that said, I am also tucked away on the bottom floor at the back, so I imaging reception could be better but this antenna a TV Tuner Card & Windows 7 = FREE ENTERTAINMENT. Cant beat it, get HD and regular channels... Prior to hooking up the antenna I received about 15 GRAINY channels (not watchable) now I have about 40 Channels and SHARP... 5+ HD Channels
Cons: None...
Actually, now I have to upgrade my monitors to two HD's... ;)
Other Thoughts: Once you know, you Newegg :)
