The antenna's steel hardware is zinc plated for corrosion resistance. All the connections are covered with polyethylene boots to keep the weather out. Double boom braces and a high impact ABS girder design also work to increase the antenna's durability. This could well be the last antenna you need to buy.

5 out of 5 eggsVery pleased.

Pros: Very large antenna. Overkill? Maybe. Very light for it's large size as well. Got it up to the roof of my house with ease. Once I pointed it to the proper location my signal strengths shot up to the 90%'s. Now I get all my locals without hiccups.

Match it with some RG6 coax cable, some grounding cable and you're ready to go. Visit hdtvprimer and antenna web for help.

Works like a champ.

Cons: Be careful when expanding the elements. Take your time so you don't break them.

Other Thoughts: I like knowing I have the largest antenna in the neighborhood. =)

5 out of 5 eggsLarge, but great antenna

Pros: Large size, high gain antenna great for the fringe area.
Sturdy construction, quality components.
Good UHF reception even for a combo VHF/UHF antenna.
Tuned for Low Band VHF so I can still receive my local ABC channel

Cons: Large large size, too large for attic mount - must be on rooftop.
Some elements were a little bent on arrival. Had to very carefully re-align them. (Not NewEggs fault; this item direct ships from OEM).
Very Directional - had to rotate it very slightly to prevent signal dropouts.

Other Thoughts: I got this antenna to pickup OTA HD and DTV. I live 20 miles to the SE of most of the Philly metro area broadcast towers. This unit may be overkill for me, but I wanted to ensure I got all the channels available.
Check the FCC website and see if you need VHF after the DTV transition - I did - my local ABC affiliate is one of 40 channels nationwide staying in the VHF band. If your must have channels are all in UHF, get a good UHF only antenna not a combo like this one. You'll get better reception with a UHF only.

I paired this up with a channel master 7777 pre amp to make up for loss in my RG-6Q cable and get every channel available in the direction the antenna is aimed at a very high signal strength in all kinds of weather.

Tips: Go to hdtv primer website and read section on erecting antenna. Also, antennaweb will help identify type of antenna you need for your address. TV fool will do the same and take it one step further. When you aim your antenna, use a compass.
