The Axion 7" road theater system is more than just a DVD player and a couple screens, though it does that job extremely well. The player can be used with one or both monitors, or it can be used with just a pair of headphones as a standalone CD player. Everything packs nicely into the included carry bag.
You can also order the optional game pads or TV tuner for when you don’t want to watch DVDs. Or for when people want to do different things. The AV in connectors let you attach an appropriately equipped digital camera or camcorder.

Nice Portable DVD Player
- Pros: It's got two nice screens with speakers built in. Long cables and the player is a separate unit from the screens. I.E. the unit can be in the front with the parents and the screens can be in the back with the kids. The price is right, it's fairly well made and it comes with a nice carrying case.
- Cons: Con #1: There's no battery in the unit so if your halfway through a movie and have to stop for gas you've got to start the whole process over again.
Con#2: The screens have separate power buttons from the head unit so you have to turn all three on at the same time.
Con#3: It has a 90 day free fix warranty and a 1 year parts warranty. My unit started giving a "No Disk" error recently and AXION customer service says the reader lens is bad and needs to be replaced. My 90 warranty is out in four days so the unit is going in the mail to them tomorrow.
Con#4: It took Axion CS about 2 weeks to answer my initial email, if they had waited any longer it would have been out of warranty.
- Other Thoughts: It's a nice setup for the money and based on my pre-purchase comparisons is a better buy than a lot of the other units available under $200.00
Excellent unit so far
- Pros: We have a number of road trips coming up and with two children almost five yrs of age, entertainment was needed. The screens are bright and clear.
I really like that each screen has its own RCA inputs, one can watch movies and the other play their "pacman" joystick game, or they can both watch a movie together.
- Cons: Not battery power. So this won't work on most flights, although airlines are starting to add power ports to their jets.
Also, cord routing is a minor issue. It is a little more difficult to set up and take down when traveling so they aren't visible to thieves.
- Other Thoughts: So far I'm very impressed and find this unit to be an excellent value. I haven't had this long enough to determine it's long term ruggedness, but hopefully it will prove to also be reliable.

7" dual LCD Monitor with stand alone DVD Player
- Pros: Two children who absolutely hate to share the monitor screens. The dual screens eliminates any arguements before they happen!
- Cons: The plugs come out very easily. With a two and three year old, they seem to be a little rough with the amount of wires that are connected.
- Other Thoughts: I recently had my motor vehicle broken into, and they took only one of the screens to this particular DVD player, I have been in an attempt to find another for approximately 2 months, any suggestions?
Great product
- Pros: Affordable / Large screen / Good resolution / Ease of operation / Long cables (can be Cons too)
I bought this for the road round trip from Chicago to Atlanta. I had a two year old boy. Without this unit, any of these kind, I wouldnt have made it.
- Cons: Player gets hot
How to keep kids quiet: Step 1
- Pros: It goes in the car, and the kids forget to stab each other with pencils and instead watch whatever cartoon distracts them from mayhem. This unit also has a hidden menu the use of which I'll leave to your imagination. The screens are bright and the volume is good. The price on these is certainly right, as well.
The supplied remote is nice, though perhaps not terribly useful in the car.
- Cons: I don't think this thing would take a beating so if your kids like to smash hardware instead of each other, keep them away from these.
- Other Thoughts: There's wires (necessary of course) that you'll need to route in such a manner as to keep them looking neat. You can't get away from it so I can't really call it a fault of the device.
The player itself gets rather warm - doesn't affect usage, just a heads-up.
