4 out of 5 eggsBeware 30" LCD owners with 2560x1600

Pros: Does what it's supposed to. It takes a composite, S-Video, or component signal and converts it to a DVI-D signal so you can use it on MOST LCDs with a DVI-D Connector.

Cons: Although it says it has a Dual-link DVI connector, it is NOT compatible with the slew of 30" LCD's floating around. It is only capable of single-link operation and if you attempt to hook it up to an LCD that has a native resolution of 2560x1600, it will NOT work correctly. My monitor, a Dell 3007WFP, flickered off and on twice per second, apparently at a 2560x1600 resolution and not 1280x800 which I had assumed it would have used in single-link mode. The right side was black, and the picture was stretched left to right twice as normal, and the picture was duplicated on the top, the bottom, and a little more at the bottom, probably 2048x768 resolution for the picture. Difficult to explain.

Other Thoughts: Manufacturer should note this is not compatible with WQXGA output resolutions. Otherwise it should work beautifully with LCD owners that have a native resolution of 1920x1200 and lower (26" and lower)
