1 out of 5 eggsPass on this one

Pros: It worked intermittently in one of my vehicles.

Cons: It ONLY worked intermittently in one of my vehicles. The audio would suddenly cut out and I'd have to wiggle the cord to get the sound back. In my other vehicle the tape deck would not accept the cassette at all - as soon as it started playing the tape deck ejected it.

Other Thoughts: I own a 2003 Chrysler Voyager that this almost worked with.
I own a 2003 Toyota RAV4 that this did not work with at all.

4 out of 5 eggsworks and that's about it

Pros: Glad it works and I can listen to my phone's music collection on the way to work in my beater car.

Cons: Sound quality will not be great, and volume is a problem for me since I have to turn up my car's stereo to nearly 3/4 just to get fair sound on the e-way, over the tire noise.

Other Thoughts: Bass Boost option is more like a Bass Reduction option. It doesn't sound right unless the Bass Boost button is clicked, which seems more like an attenuation mechanism for bass, rather than a boost. The button is also very easy to click accidentally. If your options are limited, it's very well worth it.

4 out of 5 eggsSounds Good

Pros: Sounds almost like CD quality. I didn't give it 5 eggs because it won't sound exactly like the artist intended (because I'm an audiophile), but it sounds pretty dang good. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. Plus once I get my new 5th generation iPod touch, it will make for a very nice, hands-free music experience with Siri. Awesome for the price, Maxell.

Cons: Slightly distorted bass, not a huge deal. Adjusting my music EQ and volume levels on my car and laptop (and eventually iPod) would probably fix this.

5 out of 5 eggsHad it for 5 minutes

Pros: Keeps my girlfriend and the kids happy. Plugged it up and it sounds great for being a cassette adapter.

Cons: Non.

Other Thoughts: Most retailers sell these for $20 dollars which has been this way for years. This was a really good fix and a great price.
It also came a day earlier then expected.

2 out of 5 eggsCheap is as cheap does

Pros: It works...

Cons: ...Not very well. I've gone through a bunch of these cassette adapters, and don't get me wrong, about 99% of them are cheaply made pieces of plastic, but I always liked them cuz they seemed to give a more consistent sound than the FM transmitters. HOWEVER, this one is on the top of the "CHEAP" list. Note: the following assessment is based on use in my car in which I've used others, therefore all faults are assumed to be due to the product, not my stereo. First, the overall volume produced by the adapter is lower than usual, meaning I had to turn my car stereo higher, which amplifies the "silence static" when no audio is playing. Second, the adapter seems to produce random clicking noises, which most of the time are drowned out by the music, but still noticeable. And finally third, worst of all which I discovered today, in certain areas, the adapter actually PICKS UP RADIO SIGNALS which are then played over the stereo. *facepalm*

Other Thoughts: I went to Best Buy to pick some things up and remembered I needed a new cassette adapter, so I looked for theirs. $20. I thought, "wow these things aren't worth $20, bet I could find a cheaper one on Newegg." Which I did. This seemed to be the cheapest one, so I ordered it, and quickly realized my folly. Cheap plastic is cheap. Cheaper plastic is VERY cheap and shabbily made. Gave two eggs over one because despite the cheapness, it does in fact work.
