1 out of 5 eggsPoor Affinity Customer Service

Pros: sounds pretty good, small size.

Cons: i have one of these, It does sound pretty good but the remote control stopped working. I have a fresh battery in and tested the IR using the video from my iphone's face time; I had ir on every button pressed.
Now Things do happen but i believe that it's how a company stands behind their products and resolves issues that arise from electronics that stop working especially gear that is about a year old.
I sent the company 2 emails and keep trying to call them but their phones are always off the hook, busy...This setup is not cheap-i think its pretty disgraceful that this company AFFINITY simply ignores their customers. i guess their business plan is to sell to one customer with no repeat business...
I will never buy another AFFINITY device...

1 out of 5 eggsWorthless

Pros: Can be used to weigh down something or used as bookmarks.

Cons: No HDMI, no digital, connections suck. Remote is tiny and you have to push the buttons at least ten times to get them to work. It is easier to walk over to the item and manually change the volume.

Other Thoughts: One of the worst purchases ever. I am now looking at Rak-uten and Tiger Direct for my next purchase since there is no refund offered.

This junk should have never been allowed to be sold.

2 out of 5 eggsdisappointing

Pros: Wireless subwoofer

Cons: Lack of integration between bar and subwoofer, i.e., the subwoofer must be separately turned on. With the subwoofer on, there is a hum that I can never get rid of.

Other Thoughts: Next time I will pay much more attention to user reviews before buying an item like this which due to size and bulk is difficult to return. While I'm a musician but not an audiophile, I had hoped for audio enhancement to my flat screen TV. The Affinity SB2160 item isn't it.

1 out of 5 eggsNot that good

Pros: None

Cons: Doesn't work with Samsung Plasma TV. The sound bar only connects with an AUX connector and an RCA. No optical connection. Also, there is only one RCA. If you want to connect ore than one item to this sound ba, you will need additional cables.

Other Thoughts: If your TV is more up-to-date, hen do not buy. If so, you will be disappointed and will return. If you return, you will pay Newegg a $15 restocking fee and at least $18 for shipping. Not worth it.

3 out of 5 eggsCheap

Pros: The Subwoofer looks good and the bass is very good ... over all it does what it supposed to ... The sound is load and clear so I very satisfied with that ....

Cons: Right now I am very upset that it already is not working ... So I guess I get what I pay for ...

I have this Sound bar less than 2 months and it's already broken. It will not response to the remote or the buttons on the bar itself and you have to take it out of power. It will work for few minutes and than "hang" again .... I will try to get it replaced so I will let you know how that goes ...

As for as quality this sound bar is pretty good for it price. It does not have optic connectivity so you will not be able to hear anything if you for example are using USB on the TV.

Other Thoughts: If it did not break ... I would highly recommend it ...

1 out of 5 eggsPoor quality and faulty operation

Pros: Decent sound quality

Cons: The product was set up, and there was immediately extremely poor performance in regard to the remote control. Some buttons did not work at all, and some only worked when pointed precisely at the unit. Furthermore, the speaker volume would randomly increase by itself until the maximum, when no one was even touching the remote. This was the case with 3 different phones playing music. Restarting did not help. This product caused a huge waste of time.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product.

Pros: Sounds quality is great.
NASCAR, Football, and Hockey all sound great.
Movies are crisp and seem to fill my room quite well.
I have the sound bar sitting just below my television with the sub underneath my television. The room is about 20' x 20' and you can hear a movie character's dialogue from all corners, even behind the speakers. However, that is more of an acoustical property than a pro of this sound bar

Cons: No real cons.
All of the speaker audio and power cords are in kind of odd spots, which makes them a bit of a hassle to do some cable management with.

This might be an actual con.
The LED on the sub that shows power/connectivity blink bright blue/green. That is easily remedied with some electrical tape. The LEDs on the front of the light bar are quite bright, but they are easily ignored.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall great sound

Pros: Overall the sound quality is very good. highs and mids are very good, and I was most impressed with the low end, which is well balanced. I also really liked that the speaker were touch sensitive, not buttons.

Cons: It would be nice if it had a better eq, and the remote is a little flimsy feeling. If the whole thing were bluetooth, it would be nice to control it from a phone (but should keep the flimsy controller too).

Other Thoughts: Overall I think this was a great deal when i got it on sale. For how small the package is, and how much high quality sound comes out of it, I would recommend it.

4 out of 5 eggsEverything I Expected

Pros: - Attractive styling
- Rich sound
- Easy to set up and install
- Few wires

Cons: - Limited options
- Visible lights
- Not enough volume info

Other Thoughts: Let me preface my statements by telling you that I got this unit for free. It was a free accessory item Newegg sent me with my new television. However, the retail price on the site was $200 so I still feel as though I can make a value assessment.

The sound from this unit is about as good as can be expected. It's certainly an improvement over my television's speakers and the bass is much appreciated.

It took me only a minute to set up and link the sub to the bar. I also like that the connection between the bar and sub is wireless. The only wires I have are a connection from the bar to the TV and a power cord for both the sub and the bar.

Unfortunately, those power cords take up a LOT of space. My surge protector didn't have room to accommodate both the 12v and 18v adapters. It would have been nice if the plug wasn't directly attached to the adapter. If you plug them straight into a wall, you will probably be okay.

My other main problem seems more like a niggle, but it still bugs me. The lights on the bar are on the front and can be distracting. The lights on the sub are even worse. They are on the side and cast a blue glow over my floor, which is pretty distracting. Why the lights are not on the rear of the sub, I am not sure.

I would also appreciate more feedback on were my volume is set. Switching between Netflix and regular TV means changing the volume. I also watch TV more quietly in the morning than at night and that means changing the volume again. If the bar offered a numeric volume level that I could remember, it would mean less experimenting with the volume to find the right level.

My issues with the unit do not compromise the quality of the sound, which is solid. If you get it for the half price deal Newegg has going at the time of this review, it's not a bad buy for $100. It will certainly improve your television experience.

4 out of 5 eggsQuick and easy, just how I like it.

Pros: Quick setup, Unboxed, plugged in sound bar power, connected 8mm=>RCA Yadapter. Connected RCA to my TV and 8mm to soundbar. Plugged in power for Sub and Synced Sub. 10minutes, tops and I was rocking. Sounds isn't half bad. I got in on this for $99/shipped so its outstanding for the cash.

Cons: Sound wasn't as loud as I'd like. ex, I'd have the sound maxed on the sound bar, but would need to have my TV up around 50 or 60 to get good sound. TV alone at 40 it was deafening.

Also, the sound bars indicators leave MUCH to be desired. 6 or so LED lights, no indication of what level the sound or bass is at, just blinks to indicate it received your input. So you just keep hitting up on the volume/bass until it doesn't get any louder. Kinda annoying, would have been nice to have a "special" blink to indicate you are at peak volume.

Remote is Cracker Jack Box material (as in really cheap looking/feeling)

Other Thoughts: For $99, all day I'd recommend this for a limited space setup like I have. At the current $199.99 price, I'm not 100% sure this would be the best. I saw another one on Newegg for 120 or so that included 2 satellite rears, which connected to the wireless sub, so that would work.
