Cons: The next day, I noticed no reading except for the temp which was 130 degrees F. Handheld infrared thermometer showed only the battery case to be this hot; not the surrounding meter cover or the metal housing. Removed the OEM batteries and replaced but still no Kw readings any more. The OEM batteries were very hot when I removed them and might have disabled the sensor due to overheating. Will RMA for exchange this time and get refund if second on fails. Other Thoughts: I have never felt AA batteries in any device so hot until now. This is disturbing. Did you find this review helpful? Cons: Outside temperature report is not dependable/accurate. I guess it is because it is reporting the surface heat and not the actual temperature. Other Thoughts: Fairly simple technology! If your utility Co offers time of the day rate and and you want to consider if switching to this would save you money or not, you may want to consider using this to get the feel for the rate before actually doing the switch.
