1 out of 5 eggsWorst electronic product I ever owned

Pros: None

Cons: This is the worst one I've had, and I've been buying since I bought my first transistor radio in 1958 or so. It disconnects from the internet and/ or freezes up in the middle of my surfing just about everytime. Only maybe 10% of the time can I finish an internet session. It disconnects also just about everytime when I try to videophone my grandchildren, we can never finish a session. It often freezes so bad I can't even watch TV. My son-in-laws one I bought him is the same. Customer service has been no help. They've had me try a million things, nothing has worked--they have no clue. It's a piece of junk--don't buy it.

1 out of 5 eggsCould have been something more

Pros: It could have been a great product if Logitech and Google continued supporting it.

Cons: Bought it majorly for Skype which doesn't work and Vid HD is not as good. Video quality wasn't impressive. Not enough supporting apps. It's too bad since it could have been something but dont buy it. It's probably not worth it.

1 out of 5 eggsA mistake

Pros: Keyboard makes for much better experience than boxes like HD Live. Included Video CAM is nice

Cons: Does not play many video formats.
Product discontinued by manufacturer and is no longer supported. Last firmware update was more October of 2011

Other Thoughts: I bought this primarily to stream movies from my PC to 71" TV. But half the video files will not play and with the included Logitech Media Player you can't even change sound tracks or subtitles. I also have a WD live, which plays everything.

1 out of 5 eggsVery bad player

Pros: WOW Don't waste your money on this player.

Cons: like they said it will do android market apps. don't think all. only very few apps will work. you will run into compatibility issue. and again it will not be supported logitech any longer. No wonder why logitech quit making these players. as you may longer get support it makes it worthless player. i would stick sony players, lg player etc but stay from.
like it comes camera great hd camera no doubt. but it's pointless to have it, it won't with skype it will only work logitech website. you must have to have another account. who know when they stop that service too.
needless to say it's garbage product to buy good luck
not recommeded item.
for 50 bucks you can very decent player will work 100 times better than logitech player

5 out of 5 eggsLogitech Revue review

Pros: If you want a gadget that even your wife will love, you can't go wrong with the Logitech Revue. My wife never liked any gadget I brought home because she said they were to complicated to use, and why use it when you can do it the other way. I use it mostly to watch movies I have stored on my desktop computer.

The other reviewer claims it doesn't let you control the volume of the TV, but that is not true. The unit comes with a an IR blaster that you plug into the back of the unit. It comes with an eight foot wire, so you just set it out so it is out in front of the TV. My Revue is about 10 feet away from my TV, so I just set the blaster on the table, about 10 feet diagonally in front of the TV. When I press the volume button on the keyboard, it changes the volume on the TV. You also need to do this if you want the keyboard remote to power on/off the TV.

Cons: I did lose MPeg-2 after the update to Honeycomb, but it was no big deal. I just make sure all my videos are encoded for MPeg-4, which is more popular anyway.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat media box for the price!

Pros: Box is perfect for a second tv - it's small, quiet, and adds tons of function to any set. The apps let you surf the web (Chrome), look up stuff during movies (IMDB), find something to watch (TV&Movies), or stream your own video/music (aVia app is best!). No internal hard drive, but it has two USB ports on the back plus a wifi that can stream a 1080p movie flawlessly (and LAN). mp4, VOB (non-mpeg2), mkv, & avi support out of the box (see Cons!). The included keyboard/trackpad quickly becomes an intuitive extension of your arm while you sit on the couch - only improvement would be if it could control the TV volume. There is an Android app out there that works as a remote control too...but I haven't tested it.

Cons: Mpeg2 support was DROPPED by Logitech in the Honeycomb update! WHY?!?! This means that anything recorded in the mpeg2 format (.mpeg or .mpg extensions) will NOT play/stream! Ugh...not good if you've converted mkvs to mpgs. Also, there is a VERY small App library on Play...maybe 20-30 total. No file explorer app available, so no copy/paste/delete to/from the LAN to USB - you have to physically pull the USB flashdrive from the back of the box and plug it into your computer to transfer files. (save yourself some time and just buy a cheap 32gb flash drive now!)

Other Thoughts: If only Logitech would restore Mpeg2 support, this box would have gotten 5 eggs. BUT, reading online, it appears that Logitech and Google TV have had a major falling out and Logitech has almost abandoned this product line - we just received an update in early July 2012, but still no MPEG2 support returned.
