1 out of 5 eggsEnergy Sub-wolfer

Pros: System is fine, Energy is a fine product and the speakers are great!!!!

Cons: Sub Wolfer stop working within one day of use, I am not happy about having to waste the time to send it back & deal with this issue. I thought the other reviews talking about this were one offs, not, this is a problem and they need to resolve it. Shame great price, but with this problem, not so great.

5 out of 5 eggsSound great

Pros: Not too big, sound great, and looks nice The speakers seem to be well buit and I haven't had a single issue. I use them with my Pioneer VSX-1121 and they work fine. Set up was easy with the little microphone thing that comes with the kit.

I've turned them up quite a bit on LOTR and no issues there.

Cons: The manual that comes with it is abysmal! I'm not an audiofile, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. Figuring the back of the base was confusing for me.

Other Thoughts: If you want some nice sounding speakers, go for it

5 out of 5 eggsmy best purchases in 2011

Pros: considering... sound > size > price > quality > BEST !!!
After testing and right positionig I'm + surprised with sound.

Cons: No banana conection on back of speakers.

Other Thoughts: 14 AWG speaker wire are OK but 12 gauge works perfect 4 me.

5 out of 5 eggsEnergy Micro 5.1 = WINNER

Pros: Very nice new small satellite 5.1 system @ a special sale price of $329. Good clear sound and with the sub is impressive and can easily fill a normal sized room with no trouble. Be realistic. Don't expect this to perform loudly & as well in a huge room. If that is what you need, consider my NHT recommendation in "other thoughts" below. The Energy system does have limits. Review @ CNET is accurate. This set deserves the good reviews it gets. The Energy CLASSIC 5.1 is also excellent, but those speakers have ports which make placement more difficult. The Micro satellites are very small, sealed and have no ports....and have a nice gloss black finish.

Cons: Larger satellites with larger, well made mid range drivers can fill out the lower mid range frequencies more fully and can produce a richer midrange. But considering the price, this set is a real winner. No apologies needed.

Other Thoughts: I think this set is a bargain @ $399. At my price of $329, it was a steal. In contrast, 5 NHT Super zero 2's (new model) with NHT sub are more than double the price. Yes, the NHT's are better, but at double the price. The Energy set is HIGH performance at an entry level price and performs well above its' price point. The Energy Micro 5.1 set is an easy recommendation to make.

5 out of 5 eggsFeeling Energized!

Pros: Awesome speaker system. Very clean and natural sounding speakers. And they are very compact and perfect for satellite speakers. Get a decent receiver to go with them, and you will be blown away by the sound.

Cons: Nothing major, hoped the satellites would go little lower on the frequency range.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't say they are really too boomy, or loud, but sound quality is very good and can be compared to what you find on some of high end systems
