Pros: Good clean sound, Using as front L/R in 5.1 surround system with mid level Yamaha receiver. Using Energy CC-5 center channel speaker and Bose 161 speakers as rear surround, and a Yamaha 10" sub, After a little tweaking I am very pleased with the sound. These Energy speakers replaced a pair of the Pioneer Andrew Jones speakers that were decent speakers but always just seemed a little flat in sound to me. These have a much fuller sound with crisper high's and more detail in the mid range. They say these need about 100 hours to really hit their full potential, I thought they sounded very nice right out of the box.

Other Thoughts: I felt these were a very solid bargain, The price at Newegg was much lower than other vendors that had these speakers in stock.

Pros: These speakers sound great. They are clear even when cranked up I don't hear any distortion in them, but I am not a audiophile just a normal music lover.

Other Thoughts: The Speakers really perform well for the price. Please break them in correctly for 100hrs and they will sound a lot better. I have them connected to a Denon 3802 and they sound very good. They shine in music. They seem to like jazz and rock music the best. It performs well on rap music but I feel that it rely's more on your sub to fill in the deep bass used in rap. There was very low distortion when I pushed the speakers hard which i am very happy with. The vocals sound very clear while watching regular TV. I have not had a chance to push them hard during movies and will update when I do. For the price I am very satisfied with my purchase and would buy them again. These speakers would also be good back speakers if I decide to go 7.2.
