5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

This review is from: Energy CF-30 Floor-standing Speaker (Black)

Pros: NE has these for an amazing price right now, these things sound fantastic on there own for music, and integrated nicely into my exhisting Energy 7.2 system. I will be adding the CC-10 to round out my LCR setup and can't wait. I'm running these with (2) EXL-S8 Subwoofers, Take 1 Center, (4) Take 2 sattelites off of a Yamaha RX-A800, the room is 25x14 and Also running an Epson Home Cinema 8350 and 100" screen, and let me tell you, it rival's any cinmea out there right now (save for Cinerama in Seattle) Eventually I'll be adding the CC-10 and either the CB5's or CR10's for surrounds. But none the less these sound awesome. I've been a huge Energy/Mirage fan for a long time and own speakers from both brands currently in 2 different setups. My biggest concern is everything I have currently is original Canadian Made Energy (before Klipsch/Audiovox) owned them, So I was skeptical with these being made in China but I can happily say the quailty has not changed at all from there "old days" I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these to anyone looking for a fantastic floorstander on a budget.

Cons: None that I can really think of, they are deeper than you'd expect maybe 12-15" deep so this should be a consideration for placement.

Other Thoughts: Too bad NE can't get the CC-10's for a similar deal! :)

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice!

This review is from: Energy CF-30 Floor-standing Speaker (Black)

Pros: Great budget speakers! Get these on sale and you can't go wrong for a small to midsize listening area.

Cons: None at this price point.

Other Thoughts: These are my main speakers in a mid-size apartment with a 7.2 speaker setup. Using a CC-5 for the center. Sure, they're not 70s, but that would be overkill for my place.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic AND A Great Deal

This review is from: Energy CF-30 Floor-standing Speaker (Black)

Pros: OK, I won't bore you with audiophile snobbery...although, I could. LOL

Great sound for all purposes, even music.

These go on sale at NE often. My cost was $219 for the pair, delivered.

No need to bi-wire. (Is there ever a need to bi-wire? No.)

Great response.

Cons: None that I can see. Of course, a decent sub is a must for serious listening...but that is hardly a con. That is something you should know when you start dabbling in the world of higher level products.

Again, not a con, but for most people, these are HUGE. Measure to make sure they will fit your setup space.

Other Thoughts: I have these hooked to my 7.1 setup. Onkyo receiver, CF-30s for front, Energy TAKES for surround and center, and a Behringer subwoofer the size of a Buick.

No, these aren't studio monitors...they are for home use. Still, they give the Mackies in my studio a run for the money.

Remember, sound monitoring is a highly subjective experience...and everyone will not hear the same things. Get speakers that sound good to you. Forget about the specs, unless you are a musician or audio snob. For the price, you are NOT going to beat these. If you can, go listen to these somewhere...to make sure they are what you want. The best way to test speakers is to blind test...that is, listen comparatively, without knowing what brand or model they are. Pay for sound, not for cachet. Pay for what you need, not for what you are told is "cool."

...above all, enjoy your listening. These speakers will make that enjoyment easy and fun.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Energy CF-30 Floor-standing Speaker (Black)

Pros: Excellent speakers for the price. Bought it for movies and TV watching, need decent sub to go with them. I purchased energy cc-10 to go with them. The center channel is exceptional. Really like new speakers. (had athena audition series bookshelf speakers, now they are rear surrounds.)

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: great price on sale, small and have great mids and highs. I wouldn't buy them for stereo listening. Sub is a must in my book

5 out of 5 eggscf30

This review is from: Energy CF-30 Floor-standing Speaker (Black)

Pros: good high and mid. so far exceed by expectation a being less than 3 benjamin/pair.

Cons: not very efficient speaker compare to my other mirage tower, but my 120 watts stereo harman kardon is able to push them nicely.

Other Thoughts: for the price, this is a very good bargains, and newegg service is great. 5 eggs for me

5 out of 5 eggsGood Speakers

This review is from: Energy CF-30 Floor-standing Speaker (Black)

Pros: Sleek and good quality of sound. Definitely makes a difference from my Onkyo HTS 6100. I visited BB and hhgregg many times to hear to floor standing speakers sound. They usually keep high volume, so every thing sounded great. Klipsch, definitive make good sounds, but I must say these speakers are no less. These speakers produce very good mid and high. Base is ok. My Onkyo Receiver (cant let go paid $600 for HTiB in 2008, outdated HDMI 1.3a,, really?) HT-R667 outputs 130 watts at 8ohms (or at least it says in the manual) but havent really tried high volume. Tried 50% volume for Dark Knight - BD, it was awesome. Bought it on sale for $130/speaker. Good Deal. I love Newegg.
Looking for better or matching Center Channel, going to try Polk CS2. Any input is welcome.

Cons: Not enough bass. You still need a sub. But for 5.25" speaker, you cant expect more. May be CF70 might make enough base.
Ok. Energy! you call that a manual. Please, You make good speakers and you cant make simple manual?

Other Thoughts: Onkyo HTS-6100 package. Sony 46" LCD KDL W4600, Sony BD 350.

You wont be disappointed with these Energy Speakers.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Floor Speakers

This review is from: Energy CF-30 Floor-standing Speaker (Black)

Pros: Excellent reproduction and overall sound quality. Break-in a must for a good sound. Not as tall as other competitor models. Bi-wiring is a must.

Cons: Should include better instructions and manuals. Bi-wiring is a must and my brother (who also bought them) couldn't figure out what bi-wiring meant from just reading the manual. Not as efficent as similar Klipsch models.

Other Thoughts: I use two as front speakers in an open room home theater setup. Conditions are not ideal, but these speakers put out clear powerful sound. There is no comparison between floor standing speakers and bookshelf speakers (these replaced Klipsch bookshelf speakers). I prefer the neutral sound from Energy over the bright Klipsch sound and pretty much anything from Polk, so if you prefer a neutral sound, this is it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Speaker

This review is from: Energy CF-30 Floor-standing Speaker (Black)

Pros: Amazing range of frequency response for the price (compare them to the M60's, etc). Great quality, well built, sleek (smaller than their competition). Big sound, very impressed.

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: After researching floor speakers for about 4 months, I ended up purchasing these from Newegg for ~$150 each - a deal I could not pass up. These speakers are an amazing addition to the Pioneer VSK 1020-K and a no brainer if you can find that price for them. These were the first upgrade addition to my media setup, thought #2 purchase would be a sub, but it is definitely coming after a center is purchased, as these speakers put out an impressive amount of bass for their size.
