Energy PS500 5CH Home Audio Speaker System

Pros: Inexpensive.
Integrated wall mounts.
Looks nice.
Good entry-level speakers

Cons: Center channel crackles at the slightest strain despite being crossed over. Sound is weak (needs more power for same amount of volume as my other Energy speakers). Surrounds and center are TINY and need over compensation to blend into the sound field.

These look like a mis-matched set paired with the floor-standing pieces. They're fine for a temporary solution, but I would not choose them again as a main set of 5.1 speakers.

Other Thoughts: Having another set of Energy speakers, I can say that these are nowhere near the quality I've expected from Energy. The ones I compare to are C100's and a C-C100 center and they'll blow the screws out of these with half the power. Maybe they take longer to break in, but eventually I see these ending up in the basement or bedroom and not in the living room with the main TV.

To clarify, I'm not knocking Energy - generally I love their speakers. I just wish I would have saved my money and found a set from Klipsch for this price point.

Pros: These speakers are great for the price. Grabbed them on sale for <$200 and could not be happier. Even before I decided to purchase a subwoofer they had great dynamic range for most movies and more than enough for all types of music.

They have great aesthetic value for most home theater setups and you can't even get floor standers with the Energy name on them for the price. Great value overall.

Cons: None that I have encountered thus far.

Other Thoughts: Running these through a Denon AVR-1913 and they sound great. Decided to add the Energy S10.3 when it was on sale and now the setup is amazing. For a budget sound system I have absolutely no regrets. Energy speakers are awesome!

Other Thoughts: I believe if you take a sharp object and carefully "pry off" the red and black circles on the ends of the speaker connectors you will see they are removable and there is a space to plug in a banana plug. Don't feel bad. New users often make this mistake.

Pros: I picked these up at a great price and for what I paid I couldn't ask for more. These things fill my 15x20 man cave with plenty of sound. For the price you really can't find anything better let alone floorstanding speakers.

Solid build quality and great sound at an affordable price. And built in wall mounts.

Cons: The floor speakers have banana plugs the others are just clip in. For 200$ I can't complain.

Other Thoughts: Great budget speakers. Pick these up and a pioneer vsx-821 for 350$ good starter setup for my first surround sound. Much better than htib.

Pros: *Quality Workmanship even though it is made in China.
*Sound Quality is really good, specially if you match with a good power subwoofer.
*All 5 Speakers are perfectly match.

Pros: This speaker set came to my attention from a newegg promotional email. I had been looking at similar items, from various sellers, all too expensive for my budget. SO, when I saw this "Energy" speaker set marked way down in price I was skeptical as to the quality, BUT newegg had never let me down in the past. These speakers sound GREAT, look pretty good, they're heavy, and feel very solid. The volume level on my amp is half what it was with the old speakers and the base is good. I may not even get a sub-woofer. Or I'll wait for another newegg promotion? The real surprise is in the Owners Manual, in the fine print, these are Klipsch Speakers. Apparently under a "discount" name?? Whatever the case, I love them.

Other Thoughts: Great speakers. The center channel speaker really brings out voices well, depending on which of the MANY audio mix settings I use on my Yamaha receiver.
