Polk's Monitor Series has been the gold standard of speakers since the 1970's. The CS1 center channel is a perfect accompaniment with accurate sound, strong bass and exceptional aural imaging. Polk made the enclosures to be uniform in density to dampen unwanted resonance vibration. They've also included ¾" thick baffles to help produce clear, lifelike sound.
The two 5.25" cones are made from a bi-laminate composite for an optimal balance of weight and rigidity. The small driver delivers a wide open sound and exceptional responsiveness. The 1" tweeter is a fabric/polymer composite that responds swiftly to the high efficiency Neodymium magnet. The crossovers between the drivers use Mylar bypass capacitors to let all of the details in the higher frequencies shine through.
No matter how good they sound, they have to look good, too. Their contemporary look compliments today's flat panel televisions and modern decorating styles. They are magnetically shielded so you can place them near your electronics without interference.
Pros: This a fabulous center channel speaker. Yes, it's big, but that's because it HAS to be big to hold those BIG speakers! And why do we have big speakers (other than to give someone something unimportant to complain about)? To make the speaker produce awesome sound! Smaller is not always better people!
Cons: Oh, it's just so large. I can't believe anyone would make something this big. What on earth will I ever do with myself. I can't go on living as long as this speaker box is so big.
Other Thoughts: I am so sick of hearing people complain about the most mundane things on this website! From so-called "noisy" hard drives that you need a stethoscope to hear, to dead pixels that you really can't notice without a magnifying glass, to bright LEDs (put some tape over it!). It seems that almost everyone who posts a review of a product on NewEgg has to ALWAYS find something to complain about. I guess a speaker is no exception! Just for the record, I was being sarcastic with my "cons" statement. This is a great product. And NewEgg sold it to me at a bargain of a price!

Pros: Okay, bought this center speaker the same day I bought the Monitor 50 series Polk floor-standing speakers! Let me just say, "nice"! I bought this speaker to replace my center satellite speaker which was on its last legs! The sounds I hear from this speaker is truly remarkable. The clarity and range of the voices I hear during talking scenes in my movies and games is really great. This speaker has great bass response when the occasion arises and it doesn't disappoint on its mids or highs either. It truly is a great buy if you want a decent speaker.
Cons: Yes, I do have something to say but it's not really a con but a buyer beware. Anyone that thinks about purchasing this speaker, please take into consideration its size! Objects are larger than they appear and as such, should be researched so as to enable the person to make the accommodations necessary to make room for this speaker.
Other Thoughts: As always, Newegg came through with flying colors and sooner than I anticipated! Keep up the service Newegg!

Pros: For the $100 sale price, you simply cannot beat the value. Great, full range sound.
Cons: It is quite tall and deep, rather than wide.
Other Thoughts: Don't skimp on the center channel. This speaker is a bare minimum for a modest system IMO. For $100 you can't go wrong though. For the $200 retail price, you may find something better.

Pros: Sturdy construction, excellent high and mid range reproduction.

Other Thoughts: Exceptional fidelity for the price. Dialogue is clear and present when watching a movie. If your tired of cranking the volume to hear people talk, only to be blasted by the music track or sound effects, this center channel solution is a great reasonably priced choice. I live in NJ, and NEWEGG had this delivered to me within 24 hours. With free shipping! It is unlikely that you will find a better speaker at this price.

Pros: Great sound.
Cons: Depending on your setup it may be too large (not for me though!)
Other Thoughts: Bought it when on sale for $67 and am completely certain it is worth far more. I pride myself on my hearing and have been very happy with this unit.
