Polk Audio OWM3 White Multi Application Compact Loudspeaker Pair

Pros: I decided to purchase the OWM3 because of what looked like great deal on newegg a couple days ago. Even though im not really into Polk Audio, i said to myself, the price is right and i just needed 2 more surrounds to complete my 7.1 surround. I read the favorable reviews and saw that it can be mounted multiples ways which is what i needed.

Cons: Not to be a downer here, but to my disappointment i was surprised that it didn't come with mounting hardware. It does come with a base/stand. Most of the pics even on the polk site shows the speaker on the wall but guess what? you have to buy the mounting hardware separately.

Other Thoughts: I can't really comment soundwise because i haven't mounted and listened to it yet

Pros: Excellent sound quality, easy install, numerous mounting options, price and Polk's usual high quality components.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I needed some rear surrounds and I was just waiting for one of these "3 days only" type sales on these speakers. I've been looking at them for quite a while and the opportunity came up. These speakers rock! They completely fill the back half of the room so now I have full surround. Highly recommended!

Pros: Used for my computer 7.1 surround system with the aid of a cheap amplifier and it works great.

Cons: Installation no cables are included or power supply. Had to become an expert in audio making. However the back connectors really speed up the connections which is a positive feature

Other Thoughts: Would recommend this speakers. They can even work as a stand alone unit. Provide more than enough volume for regular shores.

Pros: Great sound for the price! I got mine on super sale so that helps too. Added these to my existing 5.1 setup to get 7.1 I noticed a huge difference, especially after recalibrating my (old) Harmon/Kardon AVR 240 receiver. My stereo is finally complete!

Cons: Wasn't free

Other Thoughts: The package says these are paintable (mine were white) I may paint one of the black sine it is on a dark wall. The other one is on a white wall and is all but invisible at a glance.

Pros: These are great little speakers for the price. Easy and versatile mounting. They give a nice clear and neutral sound.
I highly recommend these as surround speakers.

Cons: Wish they had a higher power rating and sensitivity.

Pros: Very clear, accurate sound for a small wall or ceiling mounted speaker. Good value for the price. They are perfect surround speakers to compliment other Polks at front and center. I was considering Monitor 40s at the rear since a friend has a setup with these, but my wife wanted something more out-of-the-way than bookshelf speakers on stands at the back of the room. I decided to mount these to the ceiling instead, and I definitely believe they sound at least as good as the Monitors would in my space (12 x 18 ft rec room).

Cons: There's a little mid-range sibilance that seems to be a common feature of all the entry-level Polk speakers if you drive them loud.

Also, there's not much on the low-end of these. They're fantastic for rear surround satellites, and they also sound great by themselves if you have at least a small sub to pair them with, but without a sub you're definitely not going to get much bass.

Other Thoughts: My home theater is Monitor 70s in the front, a CS2 center channel, a PSW505 and these OWM3's. The speakers are definitely more on the budget end of the spectrum for a non-HTIB setup, but they all look and sound a lot more expensive than they are. The OWM3's do a more than adequate job of keeping up with the big front and center speakers in a 5.1 configuration.

Before I hooked them up to the HT, I hooked them up through the subwoofer to a stereo amp and was really impressed. They were more clear and detailed in the mids and highs than the Monitor 70's are. Overall, they are a great performing little speaker given the price and shape / size of the enclosure.

Pros: These are some great sounding speakers. More than great, they sound spectacular. It is a very clear full, rich complete sound that can sound as awesome as the front and surround sound speakers. I chose the white speakers and the color blends perfectly well with a nice limited edition picture resting between them. You would not believe how well they look on the wall over my sofa and how many compliments I get on their appearance. The speakers were easy to put up and the picture does not do them justice. The shape of each speaker affords an easy blend into any decor. I know. I’m a woman.

Cons: Barring someone receiving a lemon, I don't think that anyone could find a legitimate con to these, or for that matter, any of the Polk speakers in this series.

Other Thoughts: My receiver is the Onkyo TX-SR706. I have the Polk Tsi300's floor standing speakers as my front left and right speakers. The Polk CS10 is my center speaker, the Polk Tsi100's bookshelf speakers are my surround sound speakers and The Polk OWM3's are my rear back speakers. They are all made to go with one another. All of the speakers are black except the center speaker, which is cherry wood and the OWM3’s, which are white. The colors work well since the rears are on the wall above the sofa. Since they are each other’s matches, I'm able to set my crossover to 80hz and sit back and enjoy the show. It is A LOT OF FIRST RATE SOUND. I’ve been a music lover my entire life and I have never, ever had a system that sounds as wonderful and first rate as this. I bought all of my equipment from new egg including the receiver as each set of speakers came on sale. It’s my first time building a system and everyone that's comes to my home is super impressed with the way that it sounds and the

Pros: Lightweight, looks great, can go on a wall, sit on a shelf, extremely versatile. Tried out multiple positions before deciding on wall mounting. Instructions for mounting are clear and easy. I have these set as my surround speakers on my Onkyo and they sound fantastic, movies sound great, as does music when I have the rear and front speakers share the same volume levels. I got them on sale here at the egg, and as a pair under $150 at the time they simply can't be beat.

Cons: The vertical stand attachment was a little tough to remove once on, had to give it a good tug.
