5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Quality

Pros: Very loud bass, had my sis yelling at me and the receiver was on -10 for my sub level.
Has an auto/on auto/off feature when it detects bass it kicks on when it's not it goes into power saving mode.
Also has the ability to fully turn the sub off or on manually if you have frequency issues like I did.
Was very easy to set up just one cable into the back of my sub pre out and 1 into the white input on the sub.
Has a place to connect speakers directly.
Just holding this thing you know it's build tough.

Cons: Not sure why it wouldn't kick in if it wasn't getting strong enough sound from the receiver. To fix this just turn it on manually, I just leave my on. It did kick on once I turned the source volume up but I could hear bass even when my source was turned way low and it would still shut off with the auto function. I recommend manually leaving it on if you have a problem.

Other Thoughts: Not much else to say I've had it for a couple months and it's nice and hefty. I have to say from the picture I thought this was gonna be small but this thing is nice and big like 16 inches wide deep and high.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Goes below advertised frequency, I got mine to 28 hz but it was very quiet. 30 hz and above is enough to fill my entire apartment with chest thumping bass.

Got on sale for 100 dollars

I got the black one and it looks perfect with my other black wood sided speakers.

Has RCA inputs as well as speaker cable inputs/outputs. I recently moved and something went wrong with my receiver where the sub out was not working. It was not a problem though, I wired up just one of my satellite speakers through the sub and it works perfectly.

Cons: None for the price I paid, but for 250 dollars I would've expected a lot more out of it. Ill take an egg off for the price tag.

Other Thoughts: This sub has presence and depth but one would expect it to hit a bit harder, the punchy sound some people describe it as. I am listening on carpet, If you have hard floors, this woofer will sound a lot better.

5 out of 5 eggsLove It!

Pros: I put this behind the sofa in my media room. It's hooked up to a Yamaha 5.1 receiver and Bose Acoustimass 5.1.

The Bose handles normal base, but when car crashes or missle strikes are shown, this puppy kicks the room in the a**!!!!!

Almost like a shaker!

The crossover controls work great, though it took awhile to get the settings just so that it would kick in for the right effect.

Cons: Wish it had just a bit more kick,

Other Thoughts: Got this on a whim at the reduced price four years ago. It was and is a fantastic deal!

4 out of 5 eggsImpressive

Pros: Compact size even for a small 12 x 9 room. Decent power with variable controls. Crossover connectibility.

Cons: Only a single pre-out connector as opposed to a dual.

Other Thoughts: Bought this to enhance my very small 7.1 surround entertainment room. It has delivered far more then I had envisioned.

5 out of 5 eggsReally nice with plenty of power.

Pros: This thing really has some power if you turn it up all the way. It replaced an old Sony powered subwoofer that I THOUGHT was really nice. One movie with this thing and I have a new appreciation for what a good subwoofer can contribute to a movie. This was the last piece to complete my Polk Audio speaker system and I'm glad I bought it.

Cons: I would guess 99% of the buyers will have a single subwoofer "output" on the back of their receiver. This unit has a left and right "input" and I had to buy a splitter separately to connect this up. It wasn't a big deal but something I had to do.

Other Thoughts: Unless you're trying to fill a huge room with bass I wouldn't bother with the 12" woofer that's twice the price. This one will do the job.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Rock solid sub-woofer that Polks are notorious for, very low frequency response, accurate with adjustable level and cross-over.

Cons: Ported, I prefer none ported but it now appears most all powered sub-woofers are ported. Non ported do not produce as low of the lows but they don't blow cones either.

Other Thoughts: It's a Polk, it's rugged and loud!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect For Music

Pros: The Polk PSW10 -inch Powered Sub woofer does an outstanding job for music which its really designed for , it is not really designed for Home Theater, and it really does not go down as low as it should, causing some rattling , remember this is a good bang for the buck but for music in small to medium room, where strong lows and more power is not necessary.

Cons: Not for home theater

5 out of 5 eggsPolk Audio PSW10 Subwoofer

Pros: I rate my tech knowledge high in the realm of home and car audio, to be specific. Thus, I thought to review this Polk Sub.
This is replacing a MUCH larger, 12", MTX Subwoofer that is also boxed in wood, ported, and the same 100 wattage. The only difference is it is downfiring, while you can adjust the polk where the sound faces you, as it sits on its feet. So, all-in-all, it's a fair comparison.
The Polk blows the MTX away. The bass is punchy, powerful for what it is, but much tighter. There isn't the sloppiness that the MTX creates as the bass pounds away - The Polk is tight and refined bass.
I have this setup as a part of a 7.1 all Polk Home Theater set-up and it holds it's own with the other Series II speakers. In fact, it adds a nice dimension when I'm just listening to music through my 2 front 70's, which are good speakers in and of themselves. But this makes them sound richer and fuller.
Power, well, that is a relatively subjective thing, as far as if these are "Loud" enough. I can only tell you that the bass stays clear and punchy, all the way to the point where the entire Polk set-up is hurting my ears and my wife is yelling to turn it down!
Thus, it will suit most people's needs for an excellent, entry level subwoofer that keeps the Polk promise of giving you a LOT for your money.

Cons: There are no cons here. Even the black, wood veneer looks good. I'm not sure that it needed a silver accent, but that is merely nit-picking at looks. Overall, it looks almost as good as it sounds.

Other Thoughts: I've been in the home audio field for many years. You can't do better than this for a basic, yet highly capable sub.
If we could do a blind "listen test," I guarantee you that this sub would sound better than many brands that cost 3X as much.
