Polk's PSW110 powered subwoofer is the next evolution in powered subwoofers. The compact enclosure is made from non-resonant MDF with 0.75" internal baffling and bracing for rock solid performance with superlative detail and accuracy. The combination of side-firing driver and down-firing port surrounds the room in sound.

The voice coil of the 10" driver is perfectly centered in its magnetic field for deep bass with no distortion. The built in amplifier has a 100W continuous output with 200W of peak power. An overall 32Hz to 250Hz frequency response is attenuated by an adjustable 60Hz to 160Hz crossover so you can tune the output to match the rest of your speakers.

The back panel has both line level and speaker level inputs so you can use the PSW10 with virtually any amplifier. An LFE input allows the subwoofer to receive a precisely tailored signal. There is also a phase switch for additional fine tuning of the sound. The "auto" selection on the power switch lets the subwoofer turn itself off after 15 minutes of no signal and turn itself back an almost instantaneously, leaving you free to enjoy the music and not worry about turning things on and off.

  • newegg Impressive Bass The Polk Audio PSW110 boasts a 10" Dynamic Balance composite woofer driver and anti-resonant MDF construction to deliver powerful, accurate and musical bass for an immersive listening experience.

3 out of 5 eggsDidnt last long......

Pros: Great sound, bought it with special pricing so Great Price also!

Cons: After several weeks of mild usage the volume control has gone bad. When you touch/turn the knob the speaker thumps and pops! On occasion it will start to thump with a flutter(hard to describe ) until bass is gone from input or volume knob is touched!

Other Thoughts: I gave it 3 eggs since it did sound great when it worked properly! I'm also betting Polk will remedy the issue to my satisfaction!

5 out of 5 eggsWow! This is the wow factor !

Pros: Great deep bass, beautiful kick and not noisy
Blown away by the price, the best $150 you can spend for an audio equipment.
Beautiful cherry wood
Polk audio always my top choice when come to speakers, car or home. Polk for me is a poor man Rolls Royce. Every time I am just amazed by it, how they make these high level products at affordable price.

Cons: none, really!

Other Thoughts: Powered by my 10 yrs old Denon AVR 2802, and my speakers are Polk Audio Monitor50 Series II Floorstanding Loudspeakers. Just blown away any Bose. WOW!! THIS IS THE WOW FACTOR. Go ahead and buy this if you need a sub and have $150-$300 budget. I do suggest you match it with Polk speakers. it sounds like $500 sub, really.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat sound; mildly disappointed on Cherry finish

Pros: As others have reported, these sound great. I bought two of them ... totally unneccessary, I know, but I wanted my room to "match" left and right, and they were on sale.

Cons: I also bought two of the exceptional Polk Audio RTI A5- Cherry High Performance Floorstanding Loudspeakers as my main L&R (and Polk in-wall/ceiling speakers to complete my 7.2 surround). I was disappointed to find that the Cherry finish of these subwoofers is not at all the same as the Cherry finish on the RTI A5's. The A5's have a very deep and high-gloss Cherry that looks fabulous. These PSW110's have a redder low-luster Cherry that doesn't match. Don't get me wrong; they still look good, and their finish is "fine", but they simply don't MATCH. I'd expected that two "Cherry" finishes from the same manufacturer WOULD match. Well, I'm going to try coating them with a high-gloss Urethane to get them a little CLOSER to matchng the A5's. I know it won't be perfect, but closer anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsGood sub

Pros: Sounds amazing compared to the Yamaha I had. Good sound without the hassle of trying to find the proper cut in and out of frequency the Yamaha had. Good sized unit that is constructed well.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Glad I bought it, well worth the money.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: As the title says, awesome! Bass is deep and extremely clear even at high volume levels. I have it hooked up to a Pioneer VSX-821. When I did an auto-tune, it tried to turn down the bass 12db because it thought there was too much. lol

Cons: Cherry color a little lighter than my other Polks. Only con I could find. It still looks great though.

Other Thoughts: Got it on sale for 149.99 with free shipping. Outstanding deal. Best bang for the buck sub there is. Get one!

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: I tore open the box when it came a day and a half after I ordered it. At first glance it was clean and very good looking. I could feel quality when I picked it up and placed it. I am in the break in process now and I am already amazed. Told the people around me I am sorry already for the noise. Crisp and clean. I have become a huge fan of polk and for the money I could not be more happy. Girlfriendi s jealous that the speakers are more popular than her. The polks will last longer anyway.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The polk website reccomends getting two of these. I would but people around here might have a petition for me to move pretty quick.

4 out of 5 eggsPolk PSW110

Pros: Looks very nice, seems to be well built, very decent flexibility with multiple input sources, adjustable crossover etc. Decent sound but no stellar.

Cons: First one arrived damaged, apparently drop shipped directly from Polk. Not newegg's fault of course, but they were very helpful with a replacement. Second one also had a box falling apart but wasn't damaged. The sound is not the best I've heard, but I'm happy with it.

Other Thoughts: I think I would of rather had 2 of the cheaper Polk PSW10 rather then the PSW110 for more money. Good 'tight' sound and excellent for home theater, but seems to lack a little on music. Still have more set up ideas to work on though and dial it in. Not bad by any means, but it won't blow you away.
