Super Value - Clean sound
- Pros: Balanced, clean, wide range sound unexpected of a speaker in this price range. Even imaging is good. Used as satellites on a Logitech Z-2300 subwoofer/amp so not tested for low bass. The improvement over the Logitech satellites is ridiculous. These would make fantastic rear channel speakers on even a very hi end system.
- Cons: I can't think of anything.
- Other Thoughts: Could be adequate as standalone speakers in a small room.
You may be wasting money spending more money for rear channel speakers as I doubt there is any audible difference with these over a $2000 speaker for rears. Even as fronts they would work fine with a sub.
- Pros: Size
Excellent on high end and mid range sound Price
- Cons: when only playing single low sounds [e.g. a bass guitar in classic rock setup] the low end sounds fine, but when multiple low sounds are being voiced [ex. an orchestra piece] it can get a little muddled
- Other Thoughts: For most people this is going to be a great set of speakers.
Decent Speaker in a Home Theaer System
- Pros: I am very satisfied using this speaker in my Home Theater setup as Left and Right front channel speakers. These replaced the ones that came with the Logitech Z-5500 system as the center channel speaker in this system blew on a dynamic scene from a Blue Ray movie (Valkyrie) and I wanted to match the sound from the Polk CS1 that I had purchased here at Newegg.
- Cons: None what so ever. For my setup, they do the job.
- Other Thoughts: My Logitech Z-5500 setup now has the following replacement speakers: Polk CS1 center channel speaker, Polk M10 front left and right speakers and Polk FXi3 rear surround speakers. Once I purchase a decent subwoofer, I will replace the Logitech Z-5500 sub and controller with my Kenwood THX receiver to round things out. I want something in a powered subwoofer that will belt out the explosions of an action movie much the same as my formerly owned Klipsch powered subwoofer where my windows would rattle and my furniture would shake, rattle and roll. These speakers aren't Klipschs but they do an adequate job for me and my set up. The value is in the price I paid for them here at Newegg.
