5 out of 5 eggsI was mistaken

Pros: Clean and tight. Matched with Polk RTi A3 and this sub sounds divine. Can't wait for my LSi9's to show up.

Cons: Not heavy enough to stay coupled with the floor. After putting it on an isolation platform I could truly hear what this sub is capable of at high output levels.

Other Thoughts: Money well spent

5 out of 5 eggsAce of Bass

Pros: Polk Audio Ouality, More than 75% off retail, POWER, Sound Ouality, Build Quality, Bass all over the place, really, if you want to, you can hear it a block away although it sounds much better in the room. I Love music, playing and listening, and I know that usually, your sound is defined by the amount of money you are willing or able to spend on equipment. I also know that my Fender Bass can Rock as well or better than instruments that cost 3 times more, so you can find equipment that is superior in performance for much fewer Benjamins if you simply do your research. This little 8 inch sub is a perfect example of that premise. The deciding factor is what you connect it to and how does it fit into your speaker array. My 7.1 system has 4 Polk monitor 70s, 2 Cerwin Vega AT-15s, 1 Polk CS-1 and this sub connected to a Mara*#z reciever that has 110 watts per channel and the result, after a short "burn in" period for the new speakers and some tweaking is nothing short of musical Nirvana!

Cons: It's easy to understand how so many people can Love a companys product so much that they would take the time to share their feelings about it, like Polk Audio and NewEggs fans do in this forum, what's nearly impossible to fathom is how a select few could complain about these companys products when the positive feedback is so incredibly high. I think we all know that if we have even the smallest problem with anything we purchase from these vendors they will bend over backwards to make it right. If a Polk Audio speaker doesn't sound great, it's either defective or it's connected wrong or to a defective source, either way, NewEgg, with Polk Audios help, will help you figure that out. I don't believe that we can ever ask for more than that from anyplace we do business with. The effort it takes to complain about something you've bought would be better spent allowing NewEgg the opportunity to fix whatever it is that makes you mad unless, like I suspect, the problem is between your ears! ;<)

Other Thoughts: I guess sometime folks make a mistake that bothers them so much or Life in general has them so down that they just have to vent and this relatively anonymous forum gives them that opportunity. See? just another example of how NewEgg is ready to Help you that you weren't even aware of. But I digress... While my 15 inch woofers have always provided huge amounts of bass it's not the same as the low frequencies that this incredible little 8 inch sub is capable of reproducing and you dont need high volume to appreciate it. The clarity and depth is always present even at low levels of volume and you can enjoy this sub without disturbing another soul in the House. I challenge anyone to find a better sub for twice the price, I say that with the utmost confidence because I know that it simply doesn't exist. If you want to really experience your music and videos the way they were made to sound, try the Polk Micro Pro 2000, when the Bad guy shoots you're gonna be the one that's DUCKING DOWN!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat SUB!!

Pros: I have had the sub for almost 2 weeks. It produces deep, tight and musical bass, perfect for music and movies. Ready to roll on day one. The microphone calibration is easy to use. Remote control is nice but not necessary after initial setup, as I can control the bass volume through my receiver.

BTW, I don't understand why there is a review with only two stars. Before I made the purchase, I have read many reviews on the Web and 99% are praising this sub, especially for the SIZE and with the huge discount. Also, Polk is such a great brand and the quality of their speakers are top notch and of incredible value, when buying from Newegg.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: If you have a rather large room, then 10 or 12 inch size of the series will be better, or use two of these. But the price for the bigger subs are way higher. At that price, Polk is not that competitive.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent sub, controls ok.

Pros: Incredible sound, I have a 12" 500w rms Infinity and this little guy is louder and cleaner.

Its small and low profile. My 12" is an end table next to the couch. This little guy sits right up next to the TV, doesn't get in the way and looks good.

Cons: When changing volume levels its unclear if much happened, the front light flashes, but there seems to be a delay so you have to change settings slowly.

Other Thoughts: Once the volume and frequency are set correctly this is a fantastic subwoofer.

2 out of 5 eggsNot enough rig for any gig

Pros: Very tight and very detailed within its actually output capapcity

Cons: This sub start puttering out and distorting when my channels are receiving less than 50 watts of peak output from my yamaha m-70 amp

Other Thoughts: So woefully underpowered I wouldn't keep this sub hooked up if it were free. I wouldn't spend more than $150 on it. Bottom line its just not loud enough to compliment the low end missed by pioneer hpm100's. Steer clear

5 out of 5 eggsNICE!

Pros: The bass comes through really clear, easy to install, and has great setup modes with its own remote. For those of you who want bass that you can feel through the floor you can turn up the volume and for the other who just want good bass you can turn it down.

Cons: Non really, but I guess the owners manuel could be a little more in deapth.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to anyone wanting to upgrade from a smaller sub.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for its Size

Pros: Its sound quality is great. Tight, accurate bass in a tiny enclosure. Great looking - high gloss black and small enough to fit just about anywhere.

Cons: It is limited by its size. The bass could be much deeper if it were a 12 or even a ten (hence the 3000, and 4000 models). I'm not a fan of the volume control. If you don't know you have to count the blinks of the blue led light to know what volume the subwoofer is set to. Also I hate not having dial knobs for the gain and crossover.

Other Thoughts: This is an awesome subwoofer for a small room. You could always get two of them for a larger room, however the Polk rep I talked to claimed that the MicroPro 4000 sounds better than two 2000s.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: Perfect size for my apartment. I only had enough space in 1 location to put it, and fortunately it sounds great from there. This thing can produce some ridiculous sound. It's really fun seeing the woofer bounce around like crazy when I give it some really loud bass to play.

I looked at this when it went on sale, and I happened to have a newegg gift-certificate on hand, so I got it for a smooth $250 out of pocket. I've got a feeling this is going to last me a long time. (And if it doesn't, hey, it's got a 5-year warranty! :D )

Cons: The remote control is handy, but has a ridiculously short range. Hopefully I'll be able to jerry-rig my universal remote to work with it.

Other Thoughts: My place is pretty small (~550 sq ft), and this fills up the entire area with bass. I've just gotta be careful not too have too much fun with it (so as not to wake up the neighbors).

3 out of 5 eggsNot so happy with this subs output

Pros: Compact, big amp , good looks, and loaded with features. Some may find it suits their needs, gets low. Works well at normal listen levels. Small size.

Cons: Output is just OK for me, gets louder as you break it in. One week later it will get somewhat louder. I was expecting it to be much louder with a 1200 watt rms amp. I bought the Polk psw505 12" with the 300 watt amp as a replacement and it is much louder. I returned the micro pro and I am much happier with the psw505 . The only draw back is the psw505 is much larger with less features.

Other Thoughts: More expensive does not always sound better , I bought the micro pro and was expecting it to be room filling . My old Veledyne 8" 80 watt rms sub sounded nearly as good as the micro pro. But the psw505 will shake pictures on the wall. I like movies and such , but some times I just listen to music kinda loud and I love the impact of a good subwoofer. The micro pro is well suited to most people , I just want it to be able to get loud if I chose to Jam.
