The VM30 is a high-fidelity floorstanding speaker with a high-grade extruded aluminum enclosure used to achieve its look. It features dual 4-inch planar bass radiator subwoofers and dual 4-inch polymer composite cone drivers with rubber surrounds for dampening resonance and increasing durability. The VM30 is built with a 1-inch ferro-magnetic fluid-cooled aluminum dome tweeter for high-frequency accuracy and maintains a frequency response between 50Hz-26kHz.The VM30 is the flagship performer in the Polk VM Series. Pros: Extreme beauty and sound! These puppys actually fire out of both sides. there is like 4 cones in the front and two in the back. Speaker grills are in front and back of this single tower. Pretty much direct reflecting or even di pole. This is why I chose them for the rear channels. I am actually going to stay with 5.1 because these speakers truly engulf you!!!
Cons: ZERO. I didnt take my grills off, I just peeled back enough to take a peak and they do appear fragile.

Pros: The speakers sound great at low and high levels and you certainly can't knock the appearance. Definitely better with a Sub.
Cons: The grills (frames) are FRAGILE and not up to the quality of the rest of the speaker. The first pair I received were treated very badly by UPS and the grills were crushed on both speakers. NEWEGG quickly replaced the first pair and the second pair arrived in better, but not perfect condition (Grill damage again). I couldn't bear the pain of continually trying to replace them so I kept them considering the price - still disappointing.
Other Thoughts: The factory packaging is not suitable for UPS delivery.

Pros: These speakers are well balanced,extremely well built, Bass response is excellent can get real low,great imaging in high and mid. They look great with my LCD TV. The price is incredible cheap for these hi-end speaker. Size is perfect for mid-side room. Not too bulky like other speakers.
Cons: Better with a sub woofer, but not essential.
Other Thoughts: This speakers are amazing. It produces a rich fidelity of sound also at high and low volume. Now I have a reason to watch TV with my home theater system. When I begin to listen my music collection the speaker do a good job for my ears. I decided to buy this masterspieces because I have a pair of Monitor 60 and I am very satisfied with them. Now I enjoy more to listen the sorround sound of my AV Receiver. These speakers have a good measurement in all senses, bass (of course you have to get a subwoofer for a home theater system) and trebble. Thanks Polk for build this speakers and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Pros: If you don't have room for big speakers, these are the way to go - easy on the eyes and music to the ears! These are way better for movies than the Polk Monitor 70's they replaced. They look great next to my 50" Samsung TV.
Cons: Not as good for music as the Polk Monitor 70's they replaced. Since they are used 95% of the time for TV and movies, it was a win situation for me.
Other Thoughts: A tad more than I wanted to pay, but in the long run, its worth it.

Pros: Beautiful sounding speakers. I upgrading my JBL N-Series speakers to these and there is a significant difference. Even the wife loves them.
Cons: None, except you need a sub. I already have one so this was not an issue for me.
Other Thoughts: These go great with the VM20, which you have to get from Polk because Newegg no longer carries it.
